Joshua is rumoured to be fighting Kevin Johnson on the 31st of Jan. No one has being mentioned after this, but Eddie Chambers has spoken in the last few days about a potential fight.

Definitely a step up and a different style of opponent, as well as someone who
will come to win. Would also be great hype for a Fury fight with him being ringside. Is it too much too soon or a good fight? Any chance it happens?

Too much too soon right now imo , eddie is being avoided like the plague so doubt it ever happens, but maybe late 2015 joshua would be ready

Kingpin alone is a very good fight for Anthony at this stage to be fair

If Eddie is still as good as before he moved back down to Cruiser, then this is a huge test for Joshua. The guy was a bona fide top 5 heavy a few years back (all be in in a weak division). I don't see what the rush is for a fight like this, Kevin Johnson in more of the right kind of level.

he fought Carl baker recently didn't he, his career seems to have dropped off big time since his klitscho loss. Good ex "name" to have on the CV, and its good that Joshua is staying busy don't think he'll be any threat to AJ

Kevin Johnson's reputation is based on getting a shot at Vitali, I mean I can't think of a signature win of his, Leapai maybe? He's on the way down and is a perfect chance for AJ to get a 'name' on his resume that really doesn't pose much of a threat. Chambers is a dangerous fight, one that carries too much risk to believe it would happen.

Would be a tough fight but one thing that would happen is Chambers would land on the chin then we will see if Joshua can take it.

I wouldn't say it was getting the shot, more the fact that he was one of the 8 or 9 percent of opponents that weren't knocked out. He has fought a high calibre of opponent and taken them all the distance, I do think Joshua will stop him however. Chambers has declined massively since he was stopped by Wlad, and whilst it is a big step up, I think it is the level Joshua should be fighting at for the first 6 months of the year at least.

Sidenote: this is a boxing forum, talk of Malik Scott is strictly prohibited.

In another 3 fights or so, who knows. It all depends if he keeps developing, and how his oppositions quality increases. See how he reacts to being taken into deep(er) water, and see how his whiskers hold up.
