On the button with that list, and I would say that skill/talentwise, Cal is higher than quite a few on that list. If Khan and Bruno with their dodgy chins can go stateside to increase their profile, then Cal who is rated higher than those two should have done it earlier.

But you have to take into consideration the opposition as well.

Bruno in the 90's and Khans divisions now are more packed than Calzaghes was

Calzaghe is already there. If Hopkins beats Kovalev, it shows Hopkins is not too far behind.
Calzaghe has a win over undefeated Kessler and Eubank as well as the Hopkins win, which in my opinion is better than anything Hopkins has

There were many that didnt seem to want to face Calzaghe.

Interestingly when undefeated, I felt many didnt want to go near Bute. I read all kinds of things where many didnt appear to want to know

On a completely serious note, not sure about Taylor because that was at MW. Hopkins moved up after that fight and was a different fighter.

Dawson yes. I was very high on Dawson, great fighter but lacked drive. Style wise not a good fight for BHop.

Yet Calzaghe the shot version destroyed a prime Hopkins. I have no problem you identifying me as those things because quite frankly you conform to a sheep like mentality appeasing others and using ad populum to feel validated. I am a dying breed, an assertive alpha who tells people how it is even when it goes against the grain.
I already destroyed 2 posters to the point where one had to put me on an ignore list for his own well being, and you would be no different because you are weak.

Calzaghe decimated prime Hopkins in his own backyard with crippled hands, a weight issue and with corrupt judges/refs, he is unbeaten and destroyed everyone he faced, Hopkins fed on blown up WW's and only after Joe toyed with him did he start getting good wins against people his own size. Joe will always be superior.

Froch destroyed Taylor, Kessler beat Froch, Calzaghe killed prime Kessler and not to mention but Pavlik destroyed Taylor who was mauled by a slightly ruined Hopkins who was destroyed by Joe.

So either way Calzaghe wins and Hopkins avenged his defeat to Taylor by mauling Pavlik.

How can Calzaghe already be there, if his best win is over a guy who isnt there?

And secondly if Hopkins hasnt got anything better, what makes him such a good win for Calzaghe?
