I kinda agree with you. Racial differences aren't so superficial that they don't exist. But how can you say, "you are what you look like" and disagree with that post. If you think race is a real thing then how can you disregard the genetic basis for race and simply say that if you happen to exhibit certain features, then you're a member of a given race. It just isn't consistent.
The people of South China and North Korea are genetically almost indistinguishable from each other - but are they the same ethnicity? No, they are not. Why? Because ethnicity is a *social construct*. There are many examples of this ALL around the world.
I see. You're obviously one of the black sheep... erm ..'.dysfunctional members' of our happy commonality.
I don't think you have to be racist to believe in the obvious fact that racial differences have a genetic basis. The scientific community has shown to be influenced by outside factors in regards to conclusions regarding these issues so I wouldn't take every statement from them as gospel.
"Race" is a *social construct* and not based on any real science or genetics - which is why you observe that the concept is inconsistent. If "race" did exist then the NBA would constitute it's own "race".
So what were the Neanderthals, Denisovans which both came from Homo Heidelbergensis. They evolved earlier and separately and bare many genetic similarities. Modern Humans evolved out of Africa but separately, Africa's a huge continent do you really think everyone evolved in the same place as one big happy family it took place over thousands of years.
I think if you believe in a master race then you are a racist Not to say that it is untrue. Perhaps the truth of the matter is that one race is indeed better than all others in every way. But personally, I don't believe in such a thing and I think its racist to believe in something like that. At least thats how I see it.
