    Two questions.

Who are the best heavyweights that Harry Greb might have beaten, and could he have been champion in some era’s.

He could beat Johnny Ruiz (who was good) also an older Holmes that Spinks beat, people say Dempsey but i think the scheduled rounds would a difference, past 6 favors Dempsey but past 10 may favor Greb. Greb held his own with Langford for 6, I think he stands a good chance to beat Braddock. He may be able to beat Holyfield a blown up Toney did to an older version. I can not see Greb being successful with the PUNCHERS or the very taller guys (his power was not the toppling kind) but the lighter punching heavyweight he could out hustle and out speed...harder to do when the rounds add up but these days he may do better with the lack of conditioning in that weight class against the slower heavier men.

It's tough to say for sure, but the two guys he definitely would've beaten are Old Foreman (10-2 type decision) and Tommy Morrison (by knockout).

Anyone close to his size that was not a big puncher. Greb's activity, defense, and durability would allow him to our or out maneuver many.

I would say Joe Louis, and cite Billy Conn's work.

based on his record when he was prime I think he could score many points win over many of the best and especially a lot of the slower guys, matching power would be a problem against the harder hitters but from what I read and looking at film of his opponents he had possession of a skill, talent and boxing knowledge that not many have been able to find. I think with almost 300 fights he had his doctorate in the sweet science

I don't see lack of power being a problem as Greb wouldn't be looking to KO anyone, just pile up points. He didn't beat, say, Bill Brennan by slugging it out with him. By all accounts Brennan barely landed a good punch in four fights.

I think he'd fare better against the bigger slower heavyweights, like Foreman or Liston, and he'd probably make a lot of them look stupid, even if they did eventually get to him. Conversely I think someone like Patterson would be more of a problem for him as his speed and skillset would negate Greb's advantages.

    As to the question, Dempsey.

I think once you get into the 10 round + fights it is harder to avoid slowing down and getting hit IMO that is where you need a tad bit of power to keep the other guy at bay, once a guy realizes that you can not hurt him he will not be afraid to take some to land some but your points are well taken Patterson would be a tough fight for Greb and speed and skill set would negate Harry's advantages :good
