just how good was philip "no deal" holiday ?

yeah holiday was a good fighter but lets not forget he beat a well past his best fenech. & as for cal slappy he is not a great fighter ok he defended his title against mainly no hopers, & cherry picked past prime roy jones if they had met in their primes joe would have gotten a severe beating remember what roy did to him in the first 2 rounds that would have been like that for 12. & as for jeff lacey he was very over rated not much skill just a banger. his best win was against kessler. so please stop saying he is an atg.Phillip Holiday was a good champion not great but just above average champion (not to be confused with an average fighter). cheers guys

I got my south africans confused with the Judah comment. Interesting thing about Philip Holiday is that at a time when a young whirlwind Mosley was destroying everyone put in front of him, Holiday went 12 rounds with him and got 5 rounds on one judges scorecard and 4 rounds on anothers.

Remember when an old shot Holiday had a fight on Fox sports several years ago. Looked dreadful and lost from memory but then when interviewed after the fight went on a mental long christian rant which seemed to go on and on and on.

 

Not the most gifted fighter but apparently one of the fittest. I remember reading somewhere he use to run 80kms a week minimum. Fitness may have been his biggest asset.
