how about this fight. Pirog said he will have 2-3 tune ups before going for Golovkin. if Jacobs has any pride, he should avenge that embarrassing ko loss.
Actually he lost because he was not prepared for someone who could shift to stay on top of him and throw an accurate right hand on the move. Jacobs is a good fighter, but a healthy Pirog was no joke.
If he does return, he's gonna need to go thru Jacobs and Chudinov to get to GGG. Perhaps a soft touch vs the likes of Brian Vera would be a solid comeback fight for Pirog where he can sharpen his excellent footwork, portray his excellent chin, and exploit his superior handspeed while earning a wide points win. :think
he had no idea he had cancer at that point. not making excuses for the guy...but his grandma, who was basically like his mom, had recently passed. his head wasn't in the right spot.
He hasn't beaten anyone worth mentioning, he could end up being a good fighter but very good is pushing it.
