Good write up, your prediction is wrong though, Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev wins by TKO.

Excellent anlysis. I think it sucks though that if Kovalev wins, many fans will be diminishing the victory by stating that age finally caught up to Hopkins. That kind of talk should be suspended until they see how Hopkins looks AFTER this fight. People did the same thing when Tyson beat Holmes. They said Holmes was shot but meanwhile 4 years later he went on to beat an undefeated Ray Mercer and went 12 rounds with a prime Holyfield winning 4 rounds on two of the official scorecards. That is hardly the stuff of a shot fighter.

    1) his chin is fine BECAUSE hopkins doesn't hit hard enough.
    2) kovalev hasn't been truly tested so how deep his reservoirs are for energy is TBD.
    3) time will tell

I think Kovalev has a very good chance of winning, btw, but I gave the considered nod to Bhop. Whatever the outcome, I'm not surprised (unless Bhop KO's Kovalev like Hears did to Duran - that would blow my mind because I just can't see it happening in any scenario).

I agree with what you are saying. Kovalev hits back harder than what he receives, but he doesn't look pleased when he gets tagged. Part of the problem for Kovalev's opponents is that they always give him something to hit, whereas Hopkins doesn't really offer up much. That being said, Kovalev just needs one punch to put some blood in the water, and give him an opportunity to conduct his measured swarming.

It looks to be a close fight, but it's a pick'em fight, for sure.

Hopkins is 49 and will lose to Kovalev who is a beast.

Kovalev by knockout even though Hopkins will have his own personal referee to protect him, judges and boxing commission. Hopkins will fall down on the canvas and complain, try to get a disq. like he did Dawson..............
