These "Are so-and-so Hall of Famers?!?" threads are becoming a joke... There are probably 75 active fighters who deserve to be in the HOF before Augustus. I'm a big fan of his, but it is what it is...
Anyone who says no is a moron. He is so legendary and will go down in infamy. He is the only boxer I show highlights of to my friends, literally saying this guy is a Hall of Famer. When they see his drunken technique they are speechless, saying it is beyond belief. His drunken technique is so unique, entertaining, incomprehensible, and famous that it literally deserves to be recognized in a hall. Isn't that the very definition of hall of fame?
My heart says yes but my head say no. Emmanuel Agustus (Burton) is one of my favorites fighters to have watched, but his resume just doesn't support it, and even though he was never a world champion, he pushed many of them very hard. I actually put him on the level of a Gatti or Ward, so who knows, maybe he will get in, hope so.
One of my favorite boxers to watch. He has provided us with some true classics. But, he loss to everyone that mattered. He was more skilled than he's given credit for tho, the dude can fight. And is def the most robbed boxer ever. Entertainment wise, one of the best ever!!
Doesn't he have a .500 record or some ****. **** while we are at it might as well induct Willie McCorckle.
No but the HOF should have maybe a special wing added kinda like honorable mention for boxers like Augustus who while weren't HOF represented the sport of boxing good.
