I'm in the market for some good training gloves. I've been using a set of 14oz Ringside bag gloves XL's that someone gave me. They were brand new, padding is very good but because they are XL's they don't fit great. I have a pair of low end 16oz Evertrash that I use for sparring (doesn't happen often). I've tried them on the bag but the padding inside is worthless. I'm considering some Title or Rival gloves. Title: http://store.titleboxing.com/title-gel-intense-bag-gloves.html Rival: http://store.titleboxing.com/rival-elite-bag-gloves.html Thoughts?
Bought a pair of title gloves once - it's the only glove I ever truly hated. Awful protection, and strange thumb socket. I liked Rivals the one or two times I used them. Best bag gloves to date for me are my Fighting Sports TriTech though. Ringside IMF are great too.
rival are really difficult to put on yourself with the velcro kind. i would go with title if you need the velcro.
Try these http://promuaythaigear.com/16oztrglwive.html They are a similar cut to the original Seyer or Reyes Mexican gloves.
Not sure how big you are, but I own the Rival 14ozs. I bought them to replace my Ringside IMF Techs. Things I noticed: -- The Rival is a QUALITY crafted glove. -- The Rival padding is far too stiff especially on old settled bags -- The Rival glove has a HUGE hand compartment -- The Rival glove is a light 14oz (or the Ringside IMF Tech is a heavy 14oz) -- The Rivals are a pain to get off and on mid workout (NICE velcro) -- The Rival leather feels already broken in and you can easily open your hand flat and make a fist -- The Ringside IMF Tech (circa 2006) is invincible (STILL IN USE!) -- The Ringside IMF Tech quality of construction has plummeted, but even with bad stitching the foam is worth it -- The Ringside IMF Tech has a snug hand compartment even in the largest glove -- The Ringside IMF Tech is NICE to bang the bag with -- The Ringside IMF Tech has NICE velcro So far I have had Tuff Wear (weird thumb) and Everlast (impact on second knuckle). Gave both away. I own the Rivals, LOVE them, but don't use them often other than for short actual bone conditioning workouts, far too hard. I am now going to buy another pair of Ringside IMF Techs and get a set of the Throwdown Elite Bag Gloves (16oz) as I hear they are just re-badged and sized Ringside IMF Techs. Ringside IMF Tech is just the elite bag glove.
I have a pair of rivals and I really like them. Im no expert since it's the first gloves I've bought. I weigh 230 but I have pretty small hands so I got the 10 oz rb20 bag gloves and they fit very comfortably and protect me surprisingly well. I'm going with 12 oz next time around tho
has anyone considered the rival RF2 gloves there only 24.99 on the Rival EU website and there lace up so nice snug fit
They are many brand and places to get the best boxing gloves and we can choose the best brand we like to have.
