    I quite enjoyed Streets of Gold with Wesley Snipes.

    I also love Buster Keaton. Battling Butler has footage showing the interior of the famed Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, only a short time after it was built. My favorite Keaton film is Sherlock Jr., which is one of my two favorite silent movies along with a film directed by Kid Vidor, The Crowd.

    1) The harder they fall- Bogart and Max Baer
    2) The great white hope- James Earl Jones in a great performance
    3) Rocky- Stallone's acting was pretty good
    4) Fat City- Stacy Keach was an unknown before this. Former WW champ Curtis Cokes.

    I liked the movie, Rocky, until Apollo Creed came onto the scene. Afterwards, the movie became far too cartoon-like. Moreover, the cartoon-like features of the sequels to Rocky were even more pronounced, which made them almost unwatchable.

    I watched "Resurrecting the Champ" with Samuel L Jackson a few months ago and it was okay, I'd have probably liked it better if he wasn't in it.

    Raging bull is head and shoulders above most boxing films.requiem for a heavyweight was good too.I saw the first 2 rocky films and thought the story was good but Stallone as a boxer is hard too imagine.
    He has no semblance of a boxer or a fighter whatsoever and it's annoying that he's better known as a boxer than a lot of all time greats.
    Rocky seems to be aimed at non-boxers anyway.

    Raging Bull, The Harder they Fall, Requiem for a Heavyweight.

    Rocky is a great movie, not sure it's a great boxing movie though. I'm sure there was a round in one of Rocky's fights that lasted about 10 minutes! :lol:

    The best sport easily has the best films on their sport. Restricting it to 3 is difficult, but here goes ;
    CHAMPION - KIRK DOUGLAS.
    THE SET UP - ROBERT RYAN.
    THE HARDER THEY FALL - BOGART.
    Forget about Raging Bull, an anti-boxing flick. Scorsese was only interested in the character and freely admitted he was not a fight fan, and boy, does it show.
