He is supposed to be this street figher yet when he got slamed down he rather gave up his belt. Im willing to die inside that ring question is are you lol

 

Is telling Kovalev to go fight Cleverly an example of "running to the fire"?

Hes getting hurt. big time, Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev will break the sternum of hopkins on the advice of his trainer John David Jackson, to aim for the heart.

 

I think to the contrary, if an older once great fighter is to take a risk and suceed vs a younger champion, the old great will almost always stay away from speed rather than the power.

Power, older skilled greats can deal with by simply applying craft, but craft dealing with speed and quickness is a whole different ballgame that very seldom it can deal with.

Hopkins has shown over the years he cant handle speed and quickness, the fighters he's beaten over the last several years are slower than even he at his late age.

No way in hell he was hurt from that little fall. hayes been out 18 months with a shoulder injury, Hops was healed up and ready to go again what 4 , 5 months later?
he was smart enough to know he could get out of this fight without really being questioned because it was a foul and "injury". Smart enough to to get paid 2 times for 1 fight .... hopkins has no shame when it comes to business or money...doesnt give a fu.ck what his fans or haters think.

but someone like Cotto gets called a quitter for getting his ass kicked for 11 rounds, knockdown 3 times, blood coming out of every hole, swollen eyes and no way to win with 2 rounds left. Somehow he's the quitter but BHOP was given a pass because he was hurt. AMAZING

I think Hopkins will have his personal referee to disqualify Kovalev for punching him like he did Dawson. It appears that Hopkins will cheat to win........................Still, I think Kovalev will still seriously hurt him.................

 

Hopkins separated his shoulder off that fall, minor as it looked. He fought through that when he was a younger man, but that was also against a guy who wasn't as good as Dawson and it was much later in the fight. You can hate on Hopkins for diva antics in other fights(and rightfully so, in my view), but I don't think that particular incident qualifies. And Haye has basically been in a state of quasi-retirement multiple times now so his desire to fight is in question, hence the longer injury recovery time.

Hopkins doesn't fight killers all the time by any stretch, so I don't really buy his running to the fire bit, but he has proven he will make the big fights at some point, which is more than a lot of marquee fighters these days can claim.

If it were a one time incident then I'd take the man at his word, but he's done it all through his career for anyone to believe the injury was legit.
