He should have peaked in the early 90s with classic fights against Holy, Bowe, Lewis etc.... He would then have had a great career in my opinion, one that could stand any comparison. Rooney I believe said even by the Bruno fight he could see Mike wasn't in peak condition and we all know what happened in the next few years. Really we were robbed of his prime as he self destructed. From 86 to the Williams fight it seemed like it was only a case of how he would win, not if. Surely that is a sign of an elite athlete in his prime, even if he wasn't facing prime ATG's.
If you cant see the difference between Tyson and Wilders opposition, maybe you shouldnt be commenting at all? Outside of Bowe, who is Holyfields best win?
Good post. You've mentioned some accolades that are often overlooked and underappreciated. Like the one I posted below, a comparison between Tyson and Ali and the winning percentages of their opponents. Ali 56-5-0 (37ko's) Opp W/L/D-1975-319-72 Opp Winning %-83.5 Winning %-91.8 Overall Ranking: 87.7 Tyson 50-6-0 (44ko's) Opp W/L/D-1334-213-17 Opp Winning %-85.3 Winning %-89.3 Overall Ranking: 87.3
it is very rare, 250 posts from azzer85 in a tyson thread, according 4 tyson fanboys like azzer 85 tyson wa sin his prime when he won, then when he lost he was again past his prime, funny as they usually say that tyson was past his prime vs bruno in 1989 but he was again much better vs ruddock in 1991. laughable... tyson was in his absolute prime vs douglas, bruno ,ruddock and he would have been in 1993 and 94 too, every fighter is in his prime at 28, does not matter the name or style. all ****ing excuses, if damato died, if he did not train blablabla, i am a big tyson fan but stop making absurd excuses
whats the excuse - he spent his prime being accused of ****, long term in prison and recuperating from prison. How is prison an excuse. If you are stupid enough to think that years in prison is an excuse then you are a class A idiot.
Get it right he spent his prime getting KTFO by Douglas and the rest he was convicted of **** and rightly served his time in prison.
Yep, that just about sums it up as far as his pathetic fanboys go. If he won he was in his prime, but if he lost those creeps claim he was past his prime. As you rightly say, LAUGHABLE.
I am not interested in his prison time **** for brains. Just answer how he isn't prime when he loses to Douglas in 1990, but somehow he is still " awesome " when he beats Ruddock in 1991 according to his more imbecilic fan boys like you.
you appear to be referring to yourself, since if you aren't intereste d in prison, why are you answering my post which refers to his prime lost in prison.I'm not even quoting you, yet you felt the need to reply to my post that doesn't refer to yours! you seem to have lost it. don't dig your own holes. i'm not claiming that at all. again, you dig your own holes. you are still on ignore btw, but I was just logging back in and noticed your multiple errors, which wont stop u of course from now trying to pass them off as legit. go for it, u hardly have a track record for owning up to your mistakes.
So after yet another post full of drivel, what you are really saying is you haven't got a fvcking clue when Tyson's prime was. How about up until the Spinks fight? If so how come he beat Bruno, Williams, Tillman, Stewart, and Ruddock twice ( all comfortably according to his fan boys ) but lost to Douglas? The post prison freak show is only important to garbage like you. I love seeing you make a complete fvckwit of yourself in public, by harping on about prison, whilst being totally unable to answer the simple question put to you above. You can scream as much as you like about him being locked up for ****, but you can never explain logically why he lost to Douglas BEFORE he committed said ****. I hope you come out with those old chestnuts about him not training properly, smoking dope, drinking too much booze, whoring around, and any other ****, because here is the news. He did ALL of those things in the build ups to Bruno, Williams, Tillman, Stewart, and Ruddock too. Now slither back into your pond, and stay there.
I've already given my opinion in a previous post, and echoed the same thoughts in posts you quoted, but it appears you never read what you quoted at all. You just wanted to jump up and down again. look at the sheer aggression in your writing. There is no point in debating with someone who isn't reading what they reply to, much less someone who is replying to what they imagine they read, and certainly much less someone writing in the style you do. 3 good reasons for you to be on ignore. therefore, goodbye again.
Prime can be a tricky thing to define. i'd say he was in his prime until prison, because nothing was irretrievably lost. But he wasn't quite the same after the Spinks fight. He had lost a bit of focus and dedication. But this is often overblown. especially in the case of the Douglas loss. Many seems to overlook this as an aberration, but the thing is that it happened to a Tyson that still was far superior to anyone else he fought. Douglas on that night would have spelled trouble for any version of Tyson, even though the version he faced wasn't the very best.
