He might start with getting a new trainer. Having Jackson as a trainer, a fighter Hopkins TKO'ed in 7 rounds is just mediocre. He should at least have a puppet master trainer like GGG has.

Taking your (slight ) trolling at face value, then yeah.

Any major fight at this kinda level will add to a fighters' knowlege and ring experience. Win or lose Kovalev will develop as a boxer.

Skills? Hard to say, but simply being in a marquee fight against a legend will undoubtedly give him valuable knowledge for the future.

I fancy Kovalev to win, but if Hopkins does win, history would suggest that is unlikely.

There's lots of fighters who came out the other side of a Hopkins loss and never recovered.

Sergy is old as dirt by boxing standards but only time will tell if he has the mentality and skills to make a comeback .

It depends on what kind of a mindset a fighter has, and how badly he loses. If he gets completely shut out, then that will mess with him for a while no doubt.

Kovalev though seems like the type of fighter that doesn't give a **** or worry too much, and he also said on the 24/7 that he's gonna learn a lot just fighting Hopkins. So, if he loses I think he'll be alright, learn from his mistakes and still be dangerous for anyone at 175. He's been trhough adversity in his life before.

Kovalev is young compared to Stevenson and Hopkins.

I feel sorry for this guy, I knew people were being too confident about their pickings and this guy is awfully wrong yet again.
