I've followed Groves since he turned over into the pro game, from what I've seen he isn't 'chinny' or a fighter with a 'glass jaw' as some like to put it...

He was put down as a 21 year old boy against Kenny Anderson, who can punch. He jumped straight back up and stopped Anderson 2 rounds later.

I don't know where people get this opinion that Paul Smith had him in a world of trouble in the 1st round of there fight, it's an empty statement as far as I'm concerned. He got walloped with a right hand, was back towards the ropes. The round ended, he went back to the corner and looked pissed off with himself for being caught with a silly shot more than anything. The next round, he landed a pearler on Smith then proceeded to take him out. He wasn't in any serious trouble at all.

Then we have the two Froch fights. The first fight was a belter, Groves for the majority of the fight punched Froch around but he himself did get caught with a few which he took. Froch can bang, make no mistake about it. He might not be a highlight reel KO artist, but many fighters whether they've fought or sparred him have said he can bang. I didn't agree with the stoppage, as many others didn't hence the rematch.

Now the shot he got caught with in the rematch was a rocket of a right hand. Froch said himself it was the best punch he's ever thrown. Groves didn't make it any better for himself as he was turning himself into throwing his own left hook. That shot would have took many top SMW's past and present clean out. Groves to his credit, did attempt to get up but it was correctly waved right off.

What I will say is though, Groves style is easy on the eye and it's entertaining however he uses a hell of a lot of unnecessary movement. He uses a lot of feinting and lateral movement, which works well especially when he's firing his jab off but the way in which he does it must be tiresome - especially given his stance which is wide and looks heavy on the legs.

    False

He has to learn ( quickly) to pace fights better as with a lot of fighters when he gets tired his defence suffers and his chin gets higher

He has a average chin but he won't be paying millions to Freddie Roach anytime soon.. it's nowhere near Khan's level but I do think he has symptoms of Khanitis.
