I think the gas is caused by consuming increased amount of protein, not necessarily isolate.

The bodybuilding industry's largely to blame for the protein racket.

Kids look at the 300lb steroid behemoths on the glossy pages of the bodybuilding mags, read ghost written articles pushing fart powder, and think the more they take the more muscles they'll get.

And guess who owns the supplement companies..

The only time anyone needs be taking liquid meal replacements is if for some reason they can't eat.

    It's a mad world.

My point is that you'd take protein drinks as replacements not supplements.

There's absolutely no need to supplement protein.

The only non prescribed supplement that might be of use is a basic multi vitamin.

    All the rest is marketing.

maybe you're right but I read an article long, long ago that stated whey protein can cause the human body to synthesize glutathione which is interesting and could be beneficial.

Waste of money? The protein is already broken down to its lowest level so that the body can readily utilize it fast that is why it is so great for a post work out meal the body doesn't have to waste precious energy digesting it and can put that energy and the quick protein to use making more beautiful muscle.

But this is nullified by the fact that some protein shakes taste good.

This is the kind of thing put out by the supplement companies as part of their sales pitch to sell you more fart dust.

Then they go to town on the marketing, package it real nice, with a dude on steroids on the tin.. :yep

Not saying whey isn't a good source of protein, just that there's absolutely no need to take a protein supplement.

It would be extremely difficult to eat too little protein. Supplement it and you are almost certainly eating too much.

There is absolutely no need whatsoever to take protein supplements to build them beautiful muscles.

But if you're 'full natty brah' you'll have to be realistic about your gains..

Chemical 'assistance' is the difference when it comes to lean muscle mass. NOT protein powder. :nono

Could be but later the glutathione synthesis was confirmed by Dr. Patricia Salvato MD who used whey as nutrient therapy for her fibromyalgia patients.

Nothing wrong with a protein shakes as a quick fix if you don't have time to get a real meal in you.

Real food is better but still nothing wrong with a shake. I use a scoop of whey with oats an milk every morning for breakfast.
