Seems to be all very very quiet regards Ricky these days , Ive seen loads of people ask Eddie Hearn on twitter etc and hes always avoided the question even from other pros like Stevie Simmonds regards any upcoming plans for shows in Scotland , Ricky always draws a great crowd and will be intresting to see who and where is next for him, i see hes been sparring ohara davies of late so makes it more strange that hes ticking over with no plans announced , Theres matches there to be made within matchroom imo that are being avoided , you could have Burns Mitchell Crolla Campbell Coyle all matched and more so Burns Mitchell and Crolla as nothing concrete seems to be on the horizon , Looks to me like Eddie has lost intrest in both Ricky and shows in Scotland

As you say shows in Scotland are money makers for Eddie so in my opinion it can only be that he's lost faith in Ricky to perform at the level he once could. If we're being brutally honest Ricky has not looked good for his last 4 or 5 fights.

I'm not excusing Ricky's performances whatsoever, he's been very poor, however this MUST have had a major effect on him every single day getting up to run or train. He just said so himself in his statement it has affected him.

Lets get Ricky back at LW and stick him in with Crolla please.

I've got a feeling Burns Crolla on Jan 23 is going to be Hearns next announcement. Saw the purse bids for Jenkins Limond for the British title has been won by Hearn and will be on that date so put 2 and 2 together that it'll be in Scotland

Hopefully Ricky can put this behind him now and get back to training and winning ways.

Some people only now realise that Ricky Burns is/was never a good boxer. Frank ****** fed him shams and his last few fights where he looked bad, were just because Matchroom got him real opposition and he couldn't hack it. Now people are just saying he's past it? No, he never had it!

The guy won a world title & defended it successfully a number of times. Admittedly he's not eye catching & is not anywhere as good as other champions have been but you don't achieve what he did if you "never had it".

He fought shams. And when he stepped up with matchroom he got found out. And anyone can pick up a "world" belt these days and defend it against hand picked opponents.

Is Stuey Hall world class? :rofl

I never said he was world class. Regardless how 'easy' it is to win a world title now you don't do it by being a bad boxer all your days. I've already said he's nowhere near the level of the best in the sport but Ricky Burns was good & certainly not as bad as you appear to be rating him.

not many Irish have "picked" up world title belts, so maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself or at least think before you open up your trap and spout **** all over this thread:patsch:hi::good

Martinez was rated #1 SFW in the division if I remember correctly at the time? And everyone was saying Katsidis was going to smash Ricky and Ricky would be lucky to go 4 rounds with Michael but then after the fight the old "He was shot" excuses started to appear everywhere so they were hardly tomato cans he beat to win his world titles.
