Why do we slag off mismatches then rubbish our fighters when they take a step up?

    Groves v Froch

    Clev v Kovalev

    Just two examples?

Instead of praising them for not taking the easiest fights in the division we write them off as ''****' ''heartless'' and ''chinny''.

They should be rewarded in the day and age when paper champions like Quigg are boxing people for ''world titles'' not even ranked in the top 15!

    It annoys me too.

Any British fighter who dares to have faith in his ability is turned on quickly, it is just the British way.

We love a loser/underdog, so any unbeaten British fighter who says he is number one, wants to fight the best or has the nerve to call out a champion will get the old "I can't wait until he is exposed" and if and when they do lose ridiculed for years.

There are exceptions, for example Ricky Hatton was and will always be a fans favorite.

And I suppose it can be in reverse in a weird kind of way for example Eubank Sr was detested by many when he was undefeated and strutting around like a pea**** but as soon as he lost people started to love him but maybe that says again us Brits love a loser...

    I think it is strange.

Yeh Brits love a loser I mean look at the Nick blackwell nut huggers on here he's lost when he's stepped up and he's beaten tomato cans but there was someone whinging about how we should all give him credit. Nobody forced him into Murray, bursark and Saunders.

People are just generally quite negative on the internet these days. Always either moaning and criticizing and/or overly nut-hugging. That's just the way it is.

I know we cant have a thread without terms such as ''glass jaw'' or ''powder puff puncher''.

To many people who don't appreciate what boxers go through but want to criticise boxers when they fall short is really annoying :-(
