A total no brainer,as far as I'm concerned. Duran easily beats Mancini. Too much firepower and skill. Pretty consensual,I should think

    Duran by education & annihilation.

In line with a recent thread, Duran would both school & dominate Mancini in this one.

    Duran.

    Blindfolded if need be.

Apologies, I didn't realise we were talking about " Henry Mancini "

In that case Duran SD after a very tough fight.

    Good call,Foxy !

Duran would crease up laughing at the lyric "Huckleberry friend" in Moon River because he'd think of a blue dog and totally lose concentration

I've got to go witih Boom! Boom!

I propose Duran/Vinny Pac as evidence that no matter at what age or weight, Duran can't handle Italian fighters dat bring da rumble.

"Show em the Willie Pep, Ray!"

Duran Ko by 9, in a surprise thrilling fight.Ray would not back down from Roberto, and though that would be his ultimate undoing, Mancini would give Duran fits while he lasted.

hmmm, one poster says that Duran wouldn't be able to catch boom boom and the other says it would be a dog fight.

Agreed this would be a brutal fight while it lasted, i must say this fight would not be a walk in the park for Duran many on this site believe it would be..

When it comes to Duran's H2H ability at Lightweight, these are the only fights that should be considered.

    Duran vs Leonard II Welter

    Duran vs Benitez Light Middle

Duran vs Hearns Light Middle 33 years of age

Duran vs Paz Super Middle at 44 years of age.

I think those four fights give us a great idea of what type of fighter Duran was in his 20s at Light Weight and represent him at his absolute best.

Seems to me you'd want to look at his entire body of work especially at lightweight but I guess that would be too logical. This idea that anyone who can move gives Duran trouble is simply b.s. because if that here the case fighters such as Buchanan and Viruet would have beat him.

And why a 6'1" 154lb Hearns is even mentioned in a hypothetical fight between Duran and Mancini at 135 is a complete mystery to me.

What? did those two actually fight each other? I guess it wasn't at Lightweight though, huh?

They underestimate Mancini's heart, and fighting ability.
