(excuse to for being a twat, but ...) Nine of those statements are purely a matter opinion, subjective judgements. Therefore not a case of TRUE or FALSE, actually a case of AGREE or DISAGREE. The exception is #3, which is either TRUE or FALSE. Duran either had or didn't have stomach cramps. And I don't know.
Not sure what the trouble is. I never meant to imply they WEREN'T matters of opinion. Precious little posted here is an absolute. I was asking for input on people's thoughts on some relatively inane banter for the fun of it. Post if you want to, don't if you have a problem with it. Either is fine.

1- Jack Dempsey is not a top five heavyweight all-time. Agree 2- Leonard deserved the decision against Hagler. Agree. 3- Duran just got stomach cramps in New Orleans. Maybe. Getting taunted mercilessly in the seventh round probably didn't help his cause, either. 4- Any top ten heavy at the time would have beaten the Ali that lost to Spinks. Disagree. Evangelista was still in the ratings, and I think Ali still probably had enough left in the tank to beat him. Ditto Knoetze and Domingo D'Elia. 5- Archie Moore is overrated as a pure puncher. Disagree 6- Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter to come out of Asia. Agree, though you could make a case for Harada or Chang, depending on the criteria you used. 7- On balance, Don King brought more benefit to boxing than detriment. To boxing as a sport? Agree. 8- Prime Joe Louis beats a prime Ali. Disagree 9- Harry Greb's status as a fighter is actually elevated because of a lack of film footage. Agree. The names on his resume are impressive, but we don't know for sure how Greb went about the business of beating them. We're left to our imagination, which is enhanced to some extant by the rather descriptive language used by the fight reports that were written in that era. 10- Wilfred Benitez is the second-greatest fighter to come from Puerto Rico. Disagree. Gomez and Ortiz are two that I would have above him, for sure.
Fair enough. :good Was just pointing out that it's opinions rather than facts. I know there are plenty of people on this forum (not you) that don't seem know the difference and like to bombard us with their "FACTS", so maybe that's what prompted my stupid interjection. Yeah, wasn't a knock on you or your thread. Anyway, here goes .... 1- Jack Dempsey is not a top five heavyweight all-time. I'D BE LYING IF I SAID I HAD A LIST. But to buck the trend (and because I like Dempsey), I'll say: FALSE 2- Leonard deserved the decision against Hagler. FALSE I scored it one point to Hagler. 3- Duran just got stomach cramps in New Orleans. A pure guess: FALSE 4- Any top ten heavy at the time would have beaten the Ali that lost to Spinks. That's a toughie, I'll say FALSE Evangelista still loses, perhaps? Bobick doesn't go 15? 5- Archie Moore is overrated as a pure puncher. FALSE 6- Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter to come out of Asia. FALSE Again, I don't have a list, so I'm winging it. 7- On balance, Don King brought more benefit to boxing than detriment. TRUE 8- Prime Joe Louis beats a prime Ali. TRUE 9- Harry Greb's status as a fighter is actually elevated because of a lack of film footage. TRUE But in any case he's in the running for being THE greatest fighter ever, so maybe it's the "myth" and "mystique" of his status that becomes elevated, rather than the status (ie, rating) itself. 10- Wilfred Benitez is the second-greatest fighter to come from Puerto Rico. FALSE ? Well, I certainly don't have a clue about this. I suspect he might be third !
1. True, I have Dempsey around 7 or so. If he had beaten Wills, he might be top five 2. True, the last time I watched it, I scored it 7-5 for Leonard. 3. False, I think that Leonard's taunting played some role in making him quit. 4. False, I'm sure that Ali would have beaten at least one or two of them. 5. False, aside from Foster, I don't think any LHW punched harder than him. 6. True, Villa and Harada make good cases as well though. 7. False, he did more bad for the sport than good in my eyes. 8. False, Louis would give Ali an extremely difficult fight, but I do think Ali would win. 9. False, I think that Greb's ranking would be pretty much the same if there was footage of him. 10. False, I have him third behind Gomez and Ortiz.

My eyes might be goin' McG, but I can't find an Asian fighter ranked above the little Filipino in your top 100 list. http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=459918
