They say in sports that the legs are the first thing to go. Now that I am 38 I know this to be true your legs simply become more and more shot as time goes on.

Ali danced for 15 rounds in the second Spinks fight if I remember.

After Foley the first we saw of Ali regaining his movement was in the Frazier rematch, and while for any big man it was still exceptional there was a difference from "67 where Ali in his prime could change directions on a dime. After this it was on and off with how much he kept on his toes, more so when the style was needed for a win like in edging out the decision in the third Norton go.

He never stopped 'dancing'. He just was unable to keep moving for a full 15 rounds. He tired easier and conserved his energies. Ali also wasn't putting in the time in the gym. His legs were never the same after the exile and he took more punishment. He turned 31 in 1973. Historically boxers are past prime at this age. Of course 'modern nutrition/training methods' seemed to have extended that prime....at least in boxing.

'roids made him more durable but obviously lost quite a bit of quickness. We've seen the same scenario happen with Shannon Briggs before and after his 'asthma' kicked in.

Ali, taking roids? First I heard of it. In fact no proof at all that he took them and his career is well documented. Now some modern boxers, I would say yes.

Ali and his team blatantly cheated in the ring throughout his fights so it's hardly inconceivable that he was 'roiding it during the 'golden area' of 'roid use. Especially so when we consider the amount of non 'rough house tactics' cheating Ali's team performed again and again. yes Team Ali obviously get a thumbs up for their 'rough house tactics' that they employed but their smelling salts, cutting gloves, throwing buckets of water over the ring was just as, scratch that, more so cheating than pumping himself full of gear. Ali's team were notorious cheats.

He did use amphetamine amphetamines leading up to the Holmes fight.

I notice his movement in the 70's is quite different from what it was in thr 60's. In the 70's, he's back peddling around the ring. He changed direction but it's a different movement from the 60's when he bounced back & forth. He bounces in & out of range & uses much more upper body movement in the 60's. As he aged he simply started going backward in a circle with less upper body movement. Larry Holmes moved like this version of Ali.

Ali was more than a boxer and still is one of the big corner stones of keeping the sport of boxing where it is as a sport. It is sad to see such ignorant comments like this and a few more from idiots like this guy in a boxing forum.

Ali was the face of boxing for a couple of decades. He got there because he was the greatest. And HE raised heavyweight boxing to the level of the most interesting and supreme sport of that time.

Now, let me see Floyd's Wlad's or whoever do the same.

Nowadays nobody except of some internet trolls who do not know **** of anything are interested in boxing.

P.S. Ali would dance Wlad dizzy and k.o. **** like Tyson Fury at ease.
