He holds and smothers like someone but he never runs.
He fights the best in the division unlike someone.
He KO's and finishes his opponents without promising a KO unlike someone.

:deal Yeah, that was sick. He did it in every fukcing clinch. It was totally intentional, and Weeks did nothing. Pulev should have been deducted a point as early as the 2nd round. It was that bad.

Wlad can't fight backing up, head hunts, and has defense which isn't great.

I think Wilder will KO him. Wlad has been winning through size, intimidation and power. Wilder has more power, just as much size, and wont be intimidated.

He will have to outbox Wilder and it's not a guarantee he can at his age.

its true that wlads clinching is terrible. I was shocked at how bad it was last night, and no penalising.

still, he won. Pulev must have known he would be facing this kind of cheating on the nightm and either failed to capitalise, or rolled over.

though to be fair, Wlad would have lost by DQ (this and the povetkin fight) in neutral territory.

    MoneyMayTBE = Jacory Harris.

I still laugh at this quote from Jacory Harris from the RBR for Adrien Broner vs Marcos Maidana right after the 11th round.

    :rofl

    this is the problem
    "still he won"

also i liked that pulev hit him behind the head, fcuk the very first thing he did in the first round was clinch and hold...

    foul for a foul

again it is interesting to ask
how much of a role do biased refs play in his wins

and i am not a wlad hater,

the same question can be asked about hopkins and holyfield
who have always been allowed to foul people at will

and when they get fouled back its a crime

He's a very boring fighter to watch. He's extremely mechanical/robot like in his movements and he deserves to be deducted points in almost every fight he's in with the amount of clinching he does.

I've been watching boxing for over 25 years now, and I've never seen any boxer clinch as much as wadimir.

I wonder to myself all the time just how good would this guy be if he didn't have such a height and weight advantage in every fight he was in. Hes always the much bigger man in the ring, I mean he's a guy who fought at super HW in the Olympics.

I don't consider him a top ten P4P fighter at all. The idea of P4P is to hypothesize how guys would do in other weight classes if you could make their size and stature equal to their opponents. In wlads case, I truly believe he doesn't have the skills needed to fight P4p stalwarts like floyd, manny, ward and the rest.

I'll always look at his career from a bias disposition. He never fought anyone of quality(not one HOF SCALP on his resume) and ended up defending his title in the most diluted form of the HW division against HW opponents that will never be remembered. I mean seriously, the guys biggest win was in 2005 against Sam Peter.

So what sports did American cruiser weights go to? How about our light heavyweights? Super middleweights? Middleweights? Think they went to the NFL or NBA? Take a look at the rankings of the lower weights and tell us what sport American boxers are finding more attractive. Tennis maybe? Fact is, boxing is more a global sport now than ever before, especially with the fall of the Iron Curtain. Of course you're going to see a huge influx of fighters from around the world. I advise getting used to it or be a miserable fan for the rest of your life :|
