The key point is the 5th round, the first 4 rounds were fine no fatigue, no overpacing, not getting hit except for the one big punch in the 3rd by Lamont. Suddenly in the 5th he became slow without getting hit, his reactions and reflexes were just gone, he wants to move backwards as the punches are coming but his feet and upper body don't move, strange when he was doing it in the other rounds. Also, his punches slowed down, he was moving like he is drunk without punching himself out or getting hit, even Lamont noticed that Wlad's punches became weak and started to attack. I am sure not only the Wlad fans found this to be very strange, he was trying to keep his eyes open as if he didn't sleep for days, you can see this at his high eyebrows.
That's what ring doc Margret Goodman thought but it should be noted that high blood sugar levels also can cause pupil dilation. Wlad's blood sugar level after the fight were an alarming 230(almost twice the normal levels). This is extremely bizarre because Wlad doesn't have a history of high blood sugar or any medical conditions that would induce such conditions. His blood sugar level was regulated by IV and he was released within a very short time of admittance to the hospital. A person with a grade 3 concussion or brain haemorrhage would be in a more severe situation. Expert from letter sent to Nevada district attorney: "Medical experts have confirmed to the Klitschko team that such an elevated count may well indicate that Mr. Klitschko was given a foreign substance."
Are you sure you haven't confused Hyperglycemia with Hypoglycemia. Low blood sugar levels (Hypoglycemia) will increase pupil dilation, high blood sugar levels (Hyperglycemia) can actually minimise pupil dilation. My dad's diabetic and it's one of the signs for low blood sugar not high. Blurred vision is a symptom for high blood sugar but it doesn't affect pupil dilation to my knowledge. His high blood sugar could have been to being given a sugar saline solution when being treated. Which wouldn't have been that out of the ordinary for someone that had been involved in some form of physical exertion and then being given medical attention.
Drugged or not, Wlad was heading towards another loss Ross Purrity style. The way he was going at it he was doomed to run out of stamina, and Brewster surviving the initial onslaught put him on the path towards victory. The way Wlad went on a rampage afterwards makes me wonder a bit, though. The Klitschko brothers are very rational business men, would one of them freak out with paranoia unless something was up? But at the end of the day, Klitschko was still flawed at that point and Brewster had the gameplan for it. I think it was a legit loss.
yeah he ate a jumbo mars bar before the fight. that's one f the dumbest medical footnotes I seen in my life.
Yes I did, my apologies. However it doesn't change the fact that Wlad was in a good enough state to check himself out of the hospital within a day. If he had 3rd grade concussion and possible brain haemorrhage I would imagine he would be laid up in the hospital for quite some time for observations. 2 weeks after the fight he was given a complete physical examination were he was found to be in perfect health. Further indicating that he had not suffered any serious injury on the night. The difference in his condition between the Sanders and Brewster fights should also be noted. Excerpt from letter to Nevada district Attorney: "Sanders is widely considered one the hardest punchers, far more dangerous than Mr. Brewster. Yet, within minutes of being knocked out by Mr. Sanders, Mr. Klitschko participated in post-fight interviews, in which he coherently communicated in several different languages. In contrast, following the stoppage in Las Vegas on April 10, observers reported that, despite being conscious, Mr. Klitschko's pupils appeared dilated, he was unable to communicate and he was unable to lift his head to respond to inquiries made by the attending physicians. This condition lasted for some time. Mr. Klitschko has also confirmed that his head was completely clear after the Brewster fight was stopped; yet he could not speak or move his body with ease". So he was having more physical problems in the Brewster fight compared to the Sanders fight where he was hit with cleaner, flusher shots against a harder puncher than Brewster. Even with a clear head he is having these physical problems. This problems go away after a very short amount of time after the fight, as to prove that it is not the result of a trauma related injury or some chronic condition but something else that temporarily deteriorated his physical state.
He was fatigued and almost unable to stand on his feet. The KO against Sanders was a legit one. The glass chin theory was made up by haters. Wlad's chin is not good but it isn't bad neither.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5Lf_wXLPkg It's been a while since I've seen this. Just rewatched it. Even in the 5th round Wlad was beating the **** out of Brewster until the final minute. I kinda feel bad that an amazing performance and show of heart by Brewster, has been completely overshadowed by questions about what happened to Wlad. Brewster took a hellacious beating, and was still there coming forward throwing bombs and got the win. Much respect.
Wlad didn't have his own personal drug testers back then, plus was fighting in America with a foreign testing agency, so maybe he wasn't his "usual self" that we see in the ring today, if you know what I mean.
Hey Klittards, if Klitschko gassed or was drugged in the Brewster fight and that was the reason why he got KO'ed - why then was there NO immediate rematch?
But it sure was a strange fight.....I also think that there is a possibility that he was drugged, but we'll never know since the evidence was desrtoyed.......
