George Groves has lost his mind

Proof if needed that boxing can damage your brain.

 

I always found groves a wierd one before the two fights, now with a few beatings upside his head. hes totally gone.

 

I think there's some truth in what he's saying, they were both very close fights until the endings came.

 

He's got to be joking, he can't honestly believe what he's saying :huh

I've gone full circle on groves now and can say I'm starting to dislike him, needs to move on from the froch saga and just accept he was beat by a better overall fighter. It must hurt him mentally thinking that he's faster, with maybe more power and more agility and still got beat, doesn't help that for some reason he's got it in his head that froch is rubbish. He's definitely losing his mind.

 

To be fair had he of not got cheated out of the first fight it would be 1-1 and everyone would be demanding a 3rd

 

Really? I hate to dig up and old grave, but I thought froch would stopped him in last few rounds.

he's a fighter . he refuses to give up, thats who he is.

that said it has been getting extremely grating the whole froch groves saga, it's old news and it's time to move on.

 

The second fight showed up a lot of Groves' technical deficiencies and I think he needs to identify with that because denying it did, won't do him any favors.

Let's face it, Froch is not a great boxer, he's a hard hitter with great stamina and a granite chin. But the small adjustments he made in not over committing and not telegraphing his work were enough to reduce the gap between him and groves in boxing terms to virtually zero. When that's the case, it's not the knockout shot you should be focusing on, but everything that went before it, including why the shot even landed in the first place.

A boxer as good as George Groves thinks he is would have comfortably out boxed Froch that night. He not only didn't, but he got caught trying to throw a check left hook he does not possess the skill or timing to pull off.

It was not an extraordinary shot, as he describes it, in technique or speed or skill, like Pacquiao's right and roll vs Hatton, or Floyd's check left vs Hatton (sorry rick) but just a straight forward one two which caught him smack bang on the chin.

That would not have happened against any top quality boxer. In fact any slick mover Froch gets in with makes Froch's own skills look distinctly ordinary. Groves didn't, and there's a reason for that. He has speed, he has power, but he doesn't possess those subtle skills which really make the kind of craftsman he bills himself as.

 

I honestly wonder how things would have been different had Groves and Booth not split. Not sure how Paddy is improving him.

Yeah froch beat me twice no point fighting again first time i got a bit lucky on a unmotivated Froch we all know that what we saw was probs the best comeback in a uk fight that wont be reconised and to be fair he is almost 10 years older than me and degale but hey ho i dragged the second fight out as long as i could against a much older fighter who was to wise for me.

 

You have to remember groves is a boxer. He relies on his ego and confidence to fight just like the rest.

He's deluded but I think he needs to be in order to go on

 

Iv got a mate who loves Charlie, and every Saturday night when we have a beer and a chat he chats just like George groves chats there

 

he comes across terribly seems fairly obseesed about them loses, he talked way too much **** for both of them just to get on now, id say itl be the same with bellew cleverly, its hard to see them getting on afterwards.
Groves does seem ****ed in the head though
