Firstly the Japanese are great around these weights , probably best at Bantam. Secondly the depth of talent there means pretty average records are built because every fight is hard , no gimmies. Thirdly they travel well and prepare. This is going to be a great fight and a real 50 / 50 fight. Peace.
When it comes to boxing the bookies couldnt find their ****s with both hands. Ive made some very nice money with their boxrec ****ysis.
This and golf. Dont know any other sports. and thank god the bookies are not very good at these two. Id get hammered at football and racing.
You're absolutely right about the first 2 points, and fairly right on the 3rd. But your observation that this is a 50/50 fight is nothing more than fantasy. I've watched a bit of Otake and tbh he's a domestic level fighter at best, lucky to go through an easy spell of title defences by Japanese boxing's standard. He's durable and has a good workrate, but that's about it. Not much to his defence, he just shells up and is open to Quigg's body shots, and he isn't much of a puncher either, nor is he quick or crafty. He's a guy who makes the most of the limited skills he has, who is going to get badly exposed here. His only slim chance of victory is that's he's not just durable, but actually has a liver and chin made of concrete and is able to absorb power shot after power shot from Quigg to the point where Quigg is stopped by fatigue as much as the shots he's taking, well either that or a cut. But most likely it's Quigg ko somewhere from rounds 2-4. Quigg to win by stoppage is 1/2 (great odds considering imo), and a stoppage in rounds 2,3 or 4 pays 14/1, 14/1 and 12/1 respectively.
