I think these are the only PPV 'worthy' fights for 2015 that I can think of right now. Another bad PPV would future events a very tough sell.

 

Bellew is boxing's equivalent of poison to be honest and I think that is one regret that Hearn will have. He'll never headline a PPV again irrespective of whether he fights or wins a world title. That card needed Quigg-Galahad desperately, I would have found that acceptable because that fight intrigued me.

In recent weeks other lower level fights that have got the juices flowing were Stalker v Catterall, Heiland v Macklin (because I thought he would struggle after that showing in Germany) and even Spike v Fitzgerald. I'm not saying that these fights are the PPV but they help build it and there has to be something on there for everyone to complement the main event.


What frustrates me are the people who moan after the event. I'm not going to tell people not to buy it but don't moan after the event. The card was there for all to see and the only fight that could have potentially thrown up and upset was Degale. Anything unusual what could have happened on the other cards would not have been good matchmaking as those guys were brought in to get beat. There was basically no footage of Otake beforehand! In my opinion the card was a disgrace and brought us back to boxing dark ages.

 

TBf it depends on the numbers, but bar froch can only see brook v Khan with frampton quigg on the undercard as the only PPV likely to be sanctioned if it had bombed at the box office

 

Think hearn justified this as 'loads of pubs will buy it as it's got groves/joshua as well' - fair point I guess but it's not sustainable in the long run as people won't bother with one sided cards. Then again if it's a PPV you do want some good fighters on there, the card next weekend doesn't have as many 'stars' as this weekend but the fights are likely to be closer, but I've always felt if I want to see 50-50s I'll go watch a small hall show

 

bellew vs cleverly was not worth a *** paper compared to what it was hyped up to be. tell you the truth the whole card wasn't. but we knew that anyway.

in fact it was a lazy card it was basically lets put on who we can get...do you think it was worse than the first Froch v Groves card?that was a shocker

at least this time Groves' hooter got splatted

 

I dislike Bellew but he has been the only one to sell this fight,he unlike Cleverly who appeared pretty gormless,generated interest in the fact a lot of people wanted to see him punished and he fanned the flames with his thick phrases ....

Eddie probably has plans for an annual PPV event at Wembley. The problem is that Froch v Groves 2 showed the fans that 95% of people are so far away from the action and watching TV screens. The atmosphere was also not that great compared to a traditional boxing arena.

I had a good central seat 10 rows up from the pitch but still felt it was too far away from the ring. The cost was extortionate and most of the people around felt the same.

Would be great if he booked Wembley for a PPV event and was supported by 80,000 plastic seats.

The only thing they care about is punters money so boycott his **** cards by not buying overpriced tickets, do not subscribe to PPV and Sky will have to act.

 

You might need to tell Clev to stop laying against the wall and window and probably have to call the police on Bellew for damaging your property with his big swinging punches that keep missing. :yep

Quigg v Frampton is not PPV worthy either. It would be a ******* for boxing fans but nobody else has a clue who they are. They may hold titles but they are small men and they dont have Naseem or Pacquiao as a surname. I want to pay PPV prices for pure all round entertainment. The whole card has to be good start to finish.

This as a card i would buy. It has to be a PPV event not a PPV named fighter we pay for. I hate how "Froch is now PPV", this only applies if his apponent is. Chavez is not PPV so Froch v Chavez should'nt be PPV.

Stadium fights are ****. I went to Mitchell/Katsidis, was in the front row of the stand and couldn't see jack ****. Ended up watching all the fights on the big screen above the ring.

I've been to a fight where I've been on the back row of the top tier at the MEN and the view was better.
