Should have been a ko in my opinion. He was barely at his feet at 9 and it must have been 13-14seconds by the time he had gloves up facing the ref.
He shouldn't have......It was a long count but that's not his fault. So no use crying over spilled milk. The kid survived. That means something.
I do believe he was on his feet by 10, but by turning his back and walking away and the way he unsteadily walked forward when told to by the Ref leads me to feel it should have been stopped. I am normally for the fights continuing and against early stoppages. Chris had nothing left, that Ref just wanted him to get KO or make him quit If Chris had fight changing power, I might have been more inclined to let it continue, but he doesn't. Being down by as many points as he was, he had zero chance to win, it should have been stopped.
Up at 10 is a KO. He has to BEAT the count of ten....not match it. Again....refs call at the end of the day and he allowed it to continue.....so it is what it is.
No. Not quite. But he was stretched flat on the canvas with 1:22 left on the clock. and he was not vertical till 1:11. So yes, unofficially, it was a KO rd 9. And some folks are accusing the ref of bias in favour of Pac. He saved Chris' bacon there.
That was a LONG trip to be going home off a TKO. The judge gave Algeri the benefit of the doubt. But, yea.....it could have been a stoppage too.
the ref also got in the way of a Pac onslaught. i thought he was gonna stop the fight there, even Pac thought he's stopping the fight, but then he let it continue. the ref also gave Chris a lot of time to recover.
I think he didn't beat the count, and even if he did, he turned his back when he got up and never showed the ref anything to continue.
Looked like Algieri was having a serious conversation with himself about whether he should get up or stay on the floor
