"Once he faces the future of boxing -- which is Jessie Vargas, my fighter -- Amir Khan has a fight with Floyd Mayweather. But he must beat Jesse Vargas first. You must earn, you got to earn. He fought a Zab Judah that I fought six years ago. You know I fought a young, hungry, strong Zab Judah – he fought a Zab Judah that is a lot older. But, we want Amir Khan to fight Jesse Vargas. If Amir Khan gets past Jessie Vargas then Amir Khan has a fight with Floyd Mayweather."

    - Floyd Mayweather

"AAAAAAAAahhh.. Dat mean the pite happan? ...yes! yes!"

In other words Arum is name dropping Floyd to make Vargas seem more of a viable opponent

What I dont understand is why doesnt Arum target Kell Brook for an IBF/WBO unificaition to get Pac more leverage?

It would be a unificaiton against Floyd for all the belts at 147! the last unified champion was Bernard Hopkins (or Joe Calzaghe considering he didnt lose the IBF in the ring)

This would add some luster back into the fight but instead Arum is choosing yet another inhouse fight against a lesser known opponent whilst Brook V Pacquiao would bring in huge revenue from the UK

Did anyone expect less? They always talk about Floyd, "Yes yes!" while they duck to fight someone else. Vargas or Mikey Garcia next! Mark my words!

Vargas-DeMarco was the best fight of the night. I agree though, I didn't see much improvement. Even Broner beat DeMarco.

Its going to be Vargas lets face it  they already said before the fight they wanted to moved down to 140 because Pacquiao cant knock anyone out at 147 . . . even in his prime Manny's only knockout was a stoppage against Miguel Cotto and even then Cotto stayed on his feet and would have likely made it to the final bell.

Honestly ive said a few times now Pacquiao should target Kell Brook for the IBF title seeing as Floyd holds the WBA/WBC titles and with him running out of viable opponents it would make the most sense.

    Jessie Vargas noteable wins -

Antonio DeMarco - no noteable wins since his stoppage loss to Adrien Broner at 135. dropped in his last fight

Khabib Allakhverdiev - Vargas' best win against a 19-0 belt holder

Josesito Lopez - Split Decision win

    Kell Brook noteable wins -

Shawn Porter - Major upset win away from home against a 24-0-1 Porter who himself scored big wins over Alexander/Malignaggi.

Vyacheslav Senchenko - Former WBA Welterweight champion. Stopped in 4

Rafal Jackiewicz - Lost a MD to then IBF champion Jan Zaveck. stopped in 6 rounds

I think Vargas and Micky Garcia should fight. I wouldn't mind the winner getting Pac at 140

It's like Arum adamant on destroying pacman legacy with such statements when he should be aiming for a mayweather fight after the resurgence from PAC

The guy just gonna have shiming PAC and vargas on another chinese PPV

It wouldn't be a problem if they were on the same card, just not fighting eachother
