Wow, Beating Algieri Really Got Pac Fans Excited

Not really, Algieri was a champion true enough but he wasn't a seasoned fighter with well rounded skills and the ring IQ to deal with a fighter of Pac's caliber. Not only that, he didn't have the pop to get Pac's respect. It took everything he had to etch out a slim victory against a crude champion with no real boxing skills. He had a belt but he was no champion in the sense of what skills and ring IQ a bonifide champion should have.

Maidana was the much tougher fight. And that was obvious before this fight even took place. Chris can box. But, Maidana has more of the intangibles, and had actually improved under Garcia.

 

Maidana is no joke for any welter.
