Basically you dont like them so are unable to even contemplate the benefits. Fair Enough.

Combining weights with cardio is a waste of time but Crossfit is ok? :huh

Come on man. The guy deadlifts 590 lbs without deadlifting.

Do you think deadlifting would give him the conditioning benefits that kettelbells gave him?

I used to be in the same camp as you, and honestly, I didn't want kettlebells to be effective.

They would go against everything I learned.

But one day, I opened my mind, started using them, and never looked back. The formula is the same. F=MA. It's all in about how you achieve it.

    What's the difference?

i agree with you, the guy in the clip is a beast, and for a lot of people who have not done kettle bell training, it seems easy

and whats better just doing dead lifts and squats

two lineral movements where you straight up and down,
this in your mind is the best for sports right???

i do squats and deadlifts too but dont pretend that
they are the be all and end all of weight training

this means nothing to many people who think that squats and deadlifts are the only needed tools to get stronger

Interestingly, I know a few stickfighting champions, are big into Kettlebells. Its a big crossover as regards Boxing.

No crossfit is idiotic, that's why I suggested he try it. It's not that I don't like kettlebells, it's just that they are largely useless and everything you can develop with them can be developed better by doing something else. You'd think I was talking about your child or something, chill out.

It's not about just achieving it, it's the movement with load and how it transfers to sport. Deadlifting is almost as useless as keyttlebells when it comes to transfer to sport.

They are not linear movements, the squat is a proximal to distal movement utilizing the triple extension that is used in punching and throwing, running and jumping. There is a lot of transfer to sports when you do a high bar, full range squat.
Deadlifts don't have a lot of transfer due to the position you're in, the fact you lock your hips and knees together, and the fact that you're slowing down at the point you should be speeding up. Clean pulls are far superior for an athlete.

You need to understand movement to use weights properly. Kettlebells are basically completely useless, and they mess up athletic movement. As with dead lifts they can be used during a training period when movement isn't the priority. I don't know why you'd use kettlebells then but you could...

They actually are doing some stupid **** there, kettlebells aside. Do you think that actually wrestling might have something to do with their strength?
If you look at wrestlers you can see that a lot of their movements are hips back, then extending their backs. Deadlifts and Kb exercises likely would have more transfer for that sport.
Again you need to understand movement, not exercises.

what makes you know more about whats good for a wrestler
then some russian coach who has trained multiple world class wrestlers?

Sports coaches rarely know how to properly strength train their athletes, that's not their primary job.
