love how people use the old 'jones has more power than hopkins and he put joe down' because kessler at this stage is definitely a bigger puncher than bernard

do people not take certain things into consideration or not?

I'm not the biggest fan of Joe, but neither is he as bad as the fighter we saw Saturday night. It may well have been a different story years ago but Calzaghe would beat todays RJJ soundly, IMO.

obviously if this were 6 years ago it'd be a paint job done by roy..but does he really have the legs and stamina to pull this one?

    that'd be one helluva win

oh sweet mother****ing jesus, i'm sick to death of RJJ fans talking about his speed, yes his hand speed is still very impressive but here's a news flash for you cretins....

HIS LEGS DON'T ****ING WORK ANYMORE!!!!!!!

anyone who thinks a stationary target stands a chance against a guy with calzaghe's footwork needs a serious dose of reality.

this is a shitty mismatch that joe shouldn't be taking. RJJ is going to get brutally smashed. the man hasn't fought a live body for over 3 years and has still managed to look gash fighting stiffs.

Get used to it my friend, any Calzaghe fight against a name is going to have split predictions, even if he should be a 5/1 favourite or so.

    Yeah...

That's what I've been saying, how does a flash KD off balance equate to being KTFO by anybody who has a reasonable punch?

How is this a mismatch? I have viewed a few of Joe's fights and yes he sure does a lot of slapping. After watching the Hopkins fight, he swings with no power. I am stumped to name a fighter in the past that use to swing like him, but I can't recall his name. Picture Joe's throwing those punches and getting tagged with the old one, two. I don't believe RJJ is finished yet and this will most definitely won't be a mismatch, but an interesting fight that will build as the weeks go by. First, the both have to sign for the fight. If Joe wins, he will make the most money he has ever made in his career with this lone fight. Wow, I have not heard or read anyone using the work cretin in many years. That was funny.

You've obviously followed Joe's career. What makes him great? Why
don't people see his obvious skill-set? What more does this undefeated
warrior have to do to get respect? How many careers does he have to
derail? Lacy? Kessler? Hopkins? What's going on here? He's an obvious HOF and yet gets little respect. I've followed Joe's career for
15 years. It was obvious he was something special when he brutalized
Omar Sheika, a guy with a tough chin and a good punch years ago and
Jones wouldn't fight him. Now he's crossing the pond, whipping legends
like Hops and people say he "slaps" with his punches. Those slaps made Hopkins fold like an accordian and whine like a woman in the
10th round. He will meet up with Jones next and these two legends
with settle things one way or the other.

    • roy has looked like **** ever since ruiz.
    • roy's pop has gradually gone.
    • his legs no longer work.
    • he gets trapped against the ropes time and time again and resorts to covering up, even tito was getting through.
    • he fights for 30/45 seconds a round max.
    • calzaghe fights like a kid who's drunk too much coke for 36 minutes.
    • roy is shot to ****ing pieces and beats no one worth caring about between 160 and 175 anymore.
joe looked like **** against hops yes, but who has ever looked good against him? not even RJJ. RJJ has done nothing, nadda, zero since tarver I. get off the train, it crashed years ago.

RJJ was something special in his prime, he is a painful shadow of himself now.
