On a serious note it's on Box Nation, who are also showing the Ormond fight that day.

I was looking for peoples thoughts on how Andy would do in Vegas, you are after posting id say 10 posts on your thoughts about Andy,if you could stop posting on him i would greatly appreciate it,we know your feelings about him.
An earlier post regatding the bookies not being able to seperate the two is interesting which also tells me that Andy has a great chance,he hasn't boxed well of late while still winning but i feel his power in the latter rounds will prove crucial, digging back through previous wimmers of the wbo belt i see Steve Collins winning it in 1994 beating Chris Pyatt, could be an omen.

    COME ON ANDY!"!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you understand that the winner of BJSvCEJ is to face the winner of LeevKorobov? Thats why its news.

I know thats ridiculous but thats the way boxing is today. 3 of the four guys in an elimination for a world title have no business being there. (Lee, Korobov, CEJ). Only Billy Joe is remotely top class from that 4.
So up to last wekend we actually could have had the situation where a guy who is where he is cos of his fathers name ends up fighting the 'less worse' one of Lee and Korobov for a world title. Insane.

Thats why were talking about it.

Calm down, Dutchie. It a forum ffs. Just some ananymous guys giving their two cents worth. You cant have a forum with all the opinions the same, now, can you?
Fellas on here get all hot and bothered..:fire....

Besides, if you were looking for peoples thoughts on Andy, then you should be thanking me. It was me that drew all the Andy fans out from the woodwork, not you. You got eff-all replies until I got involved!

I remember the Collins-Pyatt fight well. At the time the WBO title was viewed as a bit of a joke, and the fight was not taken all that seriously. Collins was a mad favourite. Pyatt was a light-middle, all big left hook and nothing else. Threw 1453 of them at Steve and landed 4. Wonder what happened to Chris Pyatt?Actually Collins made hard work of that fight.

As regards omens - yes - you could look at it like that, Collins was a late blomer and from his early fights I never thought he would make it - and look how he proved me wrong. But Collins kept improving all the time and he was very strong.

Dont worry I'll be cheering as hard as anyone for Andy, despite what I want him to do.
    :thumbsup

What do you lads think of Jono Carroll's chances in Prizefighter this weekend? Lets be honest Carrolls on the hardest side of the draw with him having to fight against Foster and potentially Buckland before the final if he progresses through the fights. I think Carroll has a chance against Foster but the Buckland fight be huge 1 to beat. Should be a good night of boxing.

    Great thread my hole.

Its been dying on its feet these last months.
I'm constantly having to go looking for this 'Great Thread' as you call it on ....like.....the third page of the General Forum.

What - I should stop contributing and hand it over completely to one-worders like you? Or once a fortnighters like McGuinty? A cosy little club for a bunch of old girls who are all on the one word? The only time it comes alive at all is when I toss in the odd grenade....

If you had your way soon it'd be deader than Elvis....deader than Andys boxing future...

    Not likely lads - :bbb

I understand that; however, as a fan of Irish boxers in general and Andy Lee in particular, I would love to see Andy win a world title, something he has the opportunity to achieve on the 13th of December. Your incessant negativity about his career prospects is not only a bit premature, but grating on the nerves, to be honest.

If you have read my posts - what I am saying - and ALL I am saying is fair comment. I have been following boxing since long before Andy was born.
Like many others I had high hopes for Andy for years. I followed his career, supporting him fully for years....years. I never said a 'negative' word about him all those years.
But there came a time when it finally dawned on me that he had plateaued on a level well below world class. He continues to box on, switching divisions, fighting journeymen, clutching at straws really. He is living on his 'name', his contacts via Kronk etc. This is now working against his welfare, I think.

Boxing is not like golf or tennis where you can carry on indefinitely, no harm done. But continuing to take punches like he does cant be good for him. Boxing is a sport where its not a good idea to continue on beyond your sell-by date. I dont need to elborate here.
Andy is a great guy, sound and classy and really likeable. There is so much he could do in and out of boxing. But I dont think he is going anywhere and he is risking his future health.

Even if he beats Korobov, which from what little Ive seen of Korobov he could do - some hotshot like BJS will just pound him some more next fight. What then?

I will be cheerng for him just as loud as Dutchie or Moorser on the night, but it doesnt change how I feel about the situation. Its no big deal, its just my opinion. If you call that @negative@ then so be it......

You make some very good points and your concern for his future and health is admirable. I know that he's taken his share of big shots (the Vera, Chavez, and even Jackson fights come to mind), but he's not Arturo Gatti and is still in his prime at 30. As far as his not being world class, who at 154, Mayweather excluded, would you consider world class outside of Canelo and maybe Lara? FFS, Andy's old friend K-9 is the IBF champion at 41. I say let the lad take his shot at his dream. As you said, he's a sound guy, and I believe that he's smart enough to know when enough is enough.

Hope he puts on an eye catching performance or two-talk from their camp is Foster is a 12 round fighter and will be surprised with the intensity Carroll brings over 3.. But then he gets Buckland!! hope he does it though

he talks a good game and seems confident despite the draw-in the video below:
