Ruined Burns? He played a major part in taking him from domestic level fighter up to world level... I also think Gonzalez is a very good fighter, look forward to seeing more of him.
Gonzalez was/is a much better boxer than Burns he just didn't have the heart of Burns who hurt him with an uppercut and made him think " **** this" Billy actually admited he thought Gonzalez was weight drained. He was spot on in the Gonzalez fight. He knew Gonzalez was weight drained and he knew Ricky was tough enough to expose this later on. Gonzalez legs were gone after the uppercut. Win, win big time big Billy B Billy has won more than he's lost without having great fighters. You should give him more respect, you clown. Bills no Ray Arcel but he gets the best out of his boxers makes them tougher and defends them from ****s like you. Did you watch Billy and wee Simmo walk into norn Ire very hostile crowd and take away Martin Lindsey's title in an epic fight? Billy has some great wins but has been on the end of more dodgy judging with other fighters than he has with Burns which only actually happend once. Learn your boxing you ****ing moron
No one repects you and you say I talk drivel lol. I'm no expert and get drunk and talk ***** sometimes but at least people on forums repect me as a poster with decent knowledge unlike you. I remember you wrote Naz had the best jab and movement in any Brit boxer ever. That **** still burns my eye's when I read It [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] Billy made Burns a stronger, fitter, tougher fighter to beat. Watch early Burns and you'll see how less aggressive he was. At the end of RIcky's Billy days he was past peak. That is obvious. IMO I think as soon as Gonzalez was showing him moves he never seen before it effected his confidence to beat the real top guys. Ricky was in lots of wars (one he defo lost) and he lost even more confidence after those hard fights and the broken jaw. Billy had little to do with Burns's decline it was factors like being past his best due to too many wars and getting out slicked by gate keepers wouldn't help his confidence. On top of that Burns is just too predictable and robotic and telegraphs his shots and has a darn horrid long wide hook that my gran could dodge. He seemed to have much more variety vs Martinez but maybe thats because RM is a face first brawler.
He was just a dour Scott all the time. To be honest that mean dour way he had about him could be called character. It's subjective really. There was not many as intense as Scott Harrison. Scary, scary guy. I didn't know Scott was a witty guy as well. A lot of dour people have a dry sense of humor so it dont surprise me [emoji106]
I'll have a 10 grand bet with you that you cannot find the post where I said that. Because I never did you cretinous ****.
You did say he had a great jab and movement. The rest I made up to wind you up caus your a tool. I offer you a 10 grand bet on a boxing quiz challenge, arm chair fan [emoji1]
Here was me thinking a trainer should iron out those massive flaws... You are making such a ***** of yourself. I suggest you submit and give in.
How can you Iron out flaws when the genetics or coordination are not there to do it. You got to get the best out of what you have. Burns has always had these flaws like backing up in straight lines. He just lost the confidence to throw back and does not have the ability to change much. He's a text book boxer and tough. Billy worked on what he was good at and got him further than any Brit trainer ever could..
Even if I didn't know it already, that sentence along makes it embarrassingly obvious you're Scottish. It's surprising that such a respected poster (self-confessed I might add) could be so ignorant and bias.
[emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] Everybody know's I have lazy grammer and **** sentance construction. I still know way more than you on the history of boxing and could prove it if you have the ***** to take the challenge. I'm average compared to some dude's on here but I would **** you in a box off. All your interested in is politics, Hearns and Billy. You're one sad ****.
Well what trainer could have took the raw Burns and done better than Billy did? Who cares where I'm from. My fav boxers are not Scottish btw. I just like to defend my boy Billy [emoji23]
