Barrett was a fringe contender/gatekeeper after Wlad dominated him. He's been a steady name opponent, on par with a Jonathan Banks or a Chazz Witherspoon type. Not a contender, but not a journeyman either.
Harrison was coming off a great performance in PF. And for what it's worth, not much, he had regained some relevance with those PF wins.

38 y/o Ruiz is still better than 35 yo Sergei which aint saying much, but Ruiz had the style to make opponents look bad, and even though he wasnt a great Champion, he was always right upt here in the rankings b/c he was 50/50 at world level. Even at 38, he was still mixing it up in decent company coming off a dominant victory over journeyman tough guy Andan Serin, a close defeat to Valuev, and a dominant decision win over prime McCline. That was his 2 yr layoff you mention:-:)-:)-( :huh:huh

Valuev wasn't the GREATEST HW titlist, but for 10 yrs he hung in the top 10 and beat several good fighters, including a still solid ATG in Holyfield in what coulda gone either way, but the big man got the nod. And yeah his CV wasn't the absolute best of the HW Champions of the past, but his resume aint the WORST either. His reign at WBA was better than Potvetkins based on his wins over McCline, Barrett, and Ruiz, Donald and Levin alone.

As for Boznin....Haye's other HW win.......he's better than 2X world title challenger Vaughn Bean.

The hate is strong in you.

Your'e right on with some of your points, but haye's inactivity and woulda shoulda coulda is the olny valid argument you make against his legacy.

    No.

    He can't.

    He can beat some boxers.

    But there's some he can't.

    Ever.

Hmmm....let's count the number of "comebacks" David Haye had over the last several years, and compare it to the number of times he actually stepped into the ring.

You've got to be kidding, but knowing you....you aren't.

How is Bonin better than Bean????

Bonin feasted on Polish bums, got TKO'd by Fraudley, and wiped out by Haye in less than a round.

Bean was good enough to earn a draw on one card against Moorer, lasted 12 round against Holyfield, went 11 rounds against Vitali, went full 10 rounds against T.Thompson and Dimitrenko even at the end of his career.

Yeah, the 2x world title challenger is worse than a the guy that couldn't even win the fringe WBF title or the Polish HW title. :patsch
