Are we gonna keep this cordial or toss out ignorant statements that are obviously not true.

Everyone on this forum has seen Manny Pacquiao fight.

He was faster at 126 than he is at 130. He was faster at 122 than he was at 126. His power has gone down a bit as well. He is not faster than Gamboa. He is not faster than Guzman. He hits harder than both....though Gamboa seems to have quite a bit of power.

    :huh Not even close.

That is what I meant to say :thumbsup

    Need to edit it myself.

But it's true. He has shown some staggering power so far. And his opponents are on par if not better than many of Valero's. Of course, any punch you get hit with that you can't see can hurt you, and Gamboa seems to do that alot.

i agree but gamboa will also slow down and his power will also diminish when he goes up to 130 and maybe 135.

He's been fighting at 130. 3 times, he's actually fought over 130. So that's not happening....not based on weight. Perhaps his power will go down as his comp steps up.

He has some talent no doubt, but can we atleast see him in with atleast some B-level opposition before we start picking him over the Elites, people:patsch

Zab Judah was someone who had immense talent when he was a prospect. :deal

let your bias speak for you ... i'm speaking from a fans point of view ... Pacquiao is too fast ...

Gamboa hasn't been tested by an elite fighter and Pacquiao is just the guy to give that test.

Pac is too strong and too fast ... despite his flaws in boxing ... he's still physically better than Gamboa.

I've seen Gamboa fight and he's a good prospect, but he's had no one to test his chin and he's had no one that's as fast if not faster than him.

Let Gamboa go 10 rds or 12 rds for that matter before handing out mythical fights ...

he has over 300 amateur fights but Pacquiao is a 3 division champion (as a pro) ... even I know that Gamboa's competition doesn't compare.

yep. he still has to prove his punching power against A-level and Elite fighters with very good to great chins.

Let my bias speak for me? Is this some kind of disarming statement meant to subjegate my thoughts on a fighter simply because I disagree with you? How are my thoughts any more subject to bias than yours are, and what indication have I given that leads you to make such a statement? Look at you earlier getting annoyed when someone argues "Your opinion" in another thread, then categorizing mine as bias simply because it is different than yours.

Yes, we know Gamboa hasn't been tested by an elite fighter. Neither had Pacquiao before he destroyed the 112 champion. Neither had Jones Jr before he defeated Hopkins. Neither had Mayweather before he beat Hernandez. My point? Not being tested doesn't mean they won't pass the test when it is presented to them.

And we are not arguing his competition level are we?

No, he isn't physically better at this weight. Pacquiao is more proven. But he is not faster. He may hit harder. He is technically inferior. Like I said, Pacquiao may beat him now, most likely does. But your statement that Gamboa could never beat him? Well, that remains to be seen.

right now i'm favoring pac over gamboa and i'm a gamboa nuthugger.. Pac is a way very high of a step up. I have not seen gamboa and how he will do in the mid and late rounds. Pac as you all know has freakish stamina, and he will do what he does from round 1 to round 12. Gamboa maybe faster but pac got speed as well.
