Golovkin would make a bad fist fuker for those grazy german women. You just cant have all that big hands to make it like piston/cylinder.
Yeah from the term heavy handed most probably. Having power is such a weird unexplainable thing. You Have Timothy Bradley, a beast to look at, then you have Naseem hamed. I know who I would rather take a punch from in their prime! I wish studies could be carried out to find out what makes a powerful puncher, but my theory is that so many different muscles go into throwing a punch that different heavy punchers produce their power from different areas of their body. In GGGs case I think its got something to do with his shoulders and back. He has very square shoulders.
The additional mass by having large hands is rather meaningless compared to the overall mass of a well thrown punch. Plus, spreading power decreases it's affect. If you got hit with 50 pounds of force over 50 inches, it would be 1 pound per square inch of pressure. Rather light. If you got hit with 50 pounds on the area the size of a nail, it would be driven into your bone.
The ability to absorb impact is different than what generates the power. I would argue that hand size has little to nothing to do with bone density, which is really what yields the ruggedness and ability to absorb damage. Furthermore, my physics is a little rusty (it's been many years since college), but I believe punches (impacts) are measured in pressure, not force. While true force is a component of pressure, so is surface area. A larger surface area actually reduces the PSI of the pressure. Moreover mass has more to do with density than size, so a larger hand may not be a hand that has more mass. That's is really beside the point, though, as these slight mass differences between boxers' hands isn't going to make or break power. The things I mentioned in my previous post have infinity more to do with power than their hand although we all have established that it takes a study hand to endure pinching hard. It's worth noting that, just as martial artist do, boxers can increase their hand bone density (mass) over time through the process of micro breaks and heals. Just like the human body builds muscle by tearing and healing, we also strengthen bones by microscopic damage and healing of the bones which fills in more porous bone with more solid bone.
****ing re****ed. How stupid do you have to be to believe hand size has anything to so with punching power... What next, hair color, **** size?
