Gavin is not winning a world title at WW any time soon, just look at the top 10 and tell me who Gavin beats.

 

Gavin looked slow and old and plodding I am sad to say

 

Dont think he would beat any of the top light welters either tbh

 

Not sure why so many of you think that fighting at 7lb less he will fare much better, he wont.

 

European level doesn't actually mean all that much. It's not like there is a huge gulf in class between some good Euro fighters and top domestic level fighters. People seem to think its a natural progression, from domestic level, but who really is that much better from some of the Euro countries at Frankie's weight class?

So even if saying he is Euro level, that's not much of a compliment to be honest. It's only really Germany a couple of other Euro countries that are semi interested in boxing that have produced some decent fighters.

This UK to Euro to World thing is a little bit of a myth. Many Euro fighters have come over to the UK and have been a bit of a joke to be honest.

It's not like Euro-Level is a battleground of killers and past it yet still dangerous fighters.

There also seems to be way too much emphasis on getting the Lonsdale, British belts etc. I know they've got a ton of history, but there's bigger fish to fry than those IMO.

 

People just need to stop mentioning his name and world titles in the same sentence. Just compare him physically to any other top welter, they'd walk straight through him and brutally bully him. Hes a good domestic fighter but needs to realize his level. It reminds me of Mccloskey; he couldn't except that he wasnt world class..

 

I guess the Vassell performance was a freakish fluke. He looked different gravy that night. I think he was a tad lucky against Skeete.

But with Frankie's amateur pedigree - although they are two different games - wouldn't you think that you were above the rest of the crop?

Fight Thurman?
Face Khan?

It's a complete and utter shark-tank of a division.

 

You just have to look at Harrison but at least he had the size for his division. Imagine him going face to face with bradley, brook, maidana or thurman..

 

Maidana would be all over him like a cheap suit.

Thurman would likely KO him brutally.

Bradley, same as Maidana. Just overwhelms him.

 

I can see why (to an extent). Kell is nothing special at all.
