i was shocked at how bad some of the scoring was on skys show on saturday night , The boy Wyatt is the 1st fight was blatantly robbed as was Gary Buckland against the irsh kid imo , Also Maxi Hughes all aside his 2 knockdowns were dubious but they counted so thats 2 10/8 rounds , how they score that fight a draw baffles me , i think its about time the bbboc started to punish referees and judges for blatant hometown bias as its sickening at times , saturdays annoyed me that much i actually switched it off and didnt watch the final , Bucklands robbery was a sickner for me as he won 2 rounds convincingly for me

What everyone tends to forget is it's up to the judges to determine if it was knock downs or not and score the cards accordingly
Although I thought Martin would be to strong for maxi (from what I've seen in the gym) maxi deserved the nod by landing more cleaner punches

Yes Billy but a standing eightcount surley determines a 10-8 round unless the guy been knocked down was winning the round hands down then it could be a 10-9 round , all in all i thought maxi did enough tbh he was landing near every right hand

as far as I'm aware no if a judge deems it shouldn't have been a count they score it accordingly

Maxi Hughes got shafted. He was a clear winner by 3 rounds IMO.
After all the hype we've been hearing about Ward he wasn't convincing at all...Hughes should get credit for that though as he was the better man on the night and should have got the decision.

Calldwell should push for the rematch to be on one of his shows so Hughes gets home advantage since he got shaffted

A draw, although unsatisfying, was the right result IMHO. Both 'knockdowns' were CLEARLY shown on the replays not to be knockdowns at all. One was a clash of heads the other a slip.

They were clearly not legitimate knockdowns! Thought hughes had still done enough tho.

Hughes did more than enough to win without counting the knockdowns.
Ward never found his range and was clearly uncomfortable over the 10 rounds. After all the hype surrounding Ward about his amateur background and how fantastic he looks in sparring etc, it looks like he's another fighter who couldn't handle a southpaw.

Howard Foster's card was the standout for me. He gave it 96-95 to Ward if I remember right. I'm sure he's an honest man but the more I see of him with his early stoppages and unexpected scoring, the more I do question his impartiality.
