Grow a ****ing brain, douche bag! Cotto is a much bigger threat than either of them. Hatton is one dimensional and too small to compete at welterweight (and don't give me **** about how Floyd started at super featherweight, either, it comes down to the fighter and their style as to whether they can move up in weight and stay effective and Hatton can't), and while he's good at what he does Cotto is far better than him in every aspect of fighting. Oscar was/is a bigger risk than Hatton, but he's far removed from his best, rest assured that if he wasn't the biggest name fight Floyd wouldn't want anything to do with him either. 90% of Floyds fans only like him because he's the the most famous/visible boxer at the moment and don't know any better.

 

But we aren't talking about what I want, it is what Floyd wants.

 

Cotto is a bigger threat than Hatton, yes. Oscar is not at his best but he is a considerable threat to anyone he faces.

Is Cotto better than Oscar? Good question, Cotto is growing as a fighter but he doesn't have the big fight experience or ring savvy that Oscar has.

I think you will find that (assuming Cotto beats Margarito - not a guarantee), Cotto will have an appointment with Mayweather early next year.

If we are bound to PPV figures in dictating potential super fights, then let us see these 'so called' ppv figures miguel cotto fails to achieve. I will quote and continue to quote Leonard Ellerbe as saying on Hatton- Mayweather 24/7 'if it dont make money sense, then it dont make sense at all'. Can anyone argue that a Cotto - Mayweather matchup will generate poor PPV figures, or for that matter NOT fill up any venue on this Earth?

Ok, in defense of Mayweather's earlier reservations for not fighting Antonio Margarito, we could say that Margarito wasn't as marketable at that time as he is now. However, now that Cotto vs Margarito is the most anticpated fight on the horizon, can Ellerbe and team Mayweather still maintain that Floyd's biggest threats lack in marketability?
