Yes, and Larry Holmes was another one. Tony Tucker did it pretty well also, who else? just curious, like that style.

Tyson was a novice, facing an experienced journeyman and he still won.

there are many cases where a.prospect steps up against a journeyman and is found out.

look at Brook vs Jones, Price vs Thompson, Fury vs Mcdermott,

all Tillis did was give Tyson rounds, does anybody think the Tyson of 1-2 years later would struggle with Tillis?

Tyson was no novice Asser and Tillis gave him all he could handle, let's not forget that the journeyman had been beaten 3 times on the bounce before facing Tinkerbell Tyson.

Tillis did more than give your hero rounds, he near enough damn beat him. Tillis would have given Tyson troubles at any point in his career, in what ways was Tyson far superior 1 or 2 years later??? :hi:

Tillis right uppercut is the problem, very overlooked. Just the fact that he even could tag Tyson with it, clearly shows the world class in it. I have not seen anyone else tag Tyson so often with it. The closest in my mind is Lennox who managed to do it - on the older and slower version of Tyson.

Prime Tyson was so fast it was almost impossible to catch him - If your name's not Quick Tillis!

Tillis would be a top 3 HW today. Probably even a title holder.

Theses modern guys just don't have the jab or the movement.

Don't tell him that, he'll come out with something like Tillis wouldn't land that punch on Tyson a year or two later.

The only way he'd hold the title these days is if he carried Wlad's belts with him during the ring walk....:rofl:rofl

Wlad lost to a guy no better than James Tillis.

Tillis vs Wlad is a 5-50 fight.

    Both orthodox.

    Both over six foot.

    Both sons of the south.

I think you got "without" and "with" mixed up there. ;) His name wasn't Cassius "Quick" Clay.

When Wlad stepped up to journeyman level he LOST, by TKO.:patsch

And he was a pro for longer and had more experience than Tyson.

So what does that say about Wlad. By criticizing Tyson for WINNING , you make Wlad look 100 times worse:oops:

A young Greg Page was often written up as a New Ali.. And a young Greg was a passable imitator, Also from Louisville of Course... Another Heavy from around that time who was mooted as a New Ali (Briefly by Some was a Heavy called Johnny Bourdeaux a good mover by all accounts,
