1.1 million at 4am in the morning, 900k in the US. Viewer-wise, the fight really should have been in the UK. It would have done 80,000 at Wembley and probably 1.5 million PPV.

 

What and have floyd fight out of his home town and not have everything in his favour.... Imagine that

 

Khan has more fans overall all over the world than hatton did. But hatton had loyal manchester city football fans who would travel in numbers to his Vegas fight. That was the difference.

It sold 1.2m in the UK with the fight taking place at around 4am.

Considering the British PPV had a much smaller possible audience base than any USA based PPV, it sold proportionally at a much higher rate than any PPV fight in US history.... At 4am in the moring. That tells you just how popular Hatton was in the UK.

I think it didn't break 1 mill buys cause in the UK boxing fights are free. But im not sure

Khan is more popular with the Muslim community in the u.K and Muslim countries

 

Not even remotely close. Kahn isn't liked that much over here.

the PPV only costs £15-£20 in the UK though which is around $30

 

Yes it cost a lot less, but it was also on at 4am. Getting 1.2m casuals to buy and tune in to thefight a 4am was some feat.

His popularity dwarfed any of the currently active UK fighters.
