Not really. Mayweather can fight Guerrero, Ortiz, and Maidana (who turned out to be good but was not remotely considered legitimate coming in). Pacquaio fights Algieri, Bradley (consensus p4p top 5 at the time), and Rios since Marquez refused the rematch.

Mayweather has been open about choosing low risk/high reward opponents. Pacquiao has been open about not having anybody to fight under Top Rank since Mayweather/Marquez refused to fight him.

It's a case of one fighter making the most of what's available while he's ducked and another fighter picking the weakest from a long list of opponents who are begging to be bent over 94/6 style. Neither is ideal.

Since the brutal KO Pacquiao has been doing nothing but fighting handpicked feather fisted opponents.

Latino then. Or something. We could go with 'indigenous South or Central American and/or Caucasian' if that's more correct. I lose track of these things.

It's on the damn census questions so I'm rolling with it.

There are a lot of good arguments for this. To me it comes down to Floyd pretty much shutting out Alvarez and Lara struggling mightily.

You make a lot of great points, but I would add that there is no champ at 154 until Floyd fights Lara. Also, the best at 168 is Froch, not Ward.

Styles make fights, and Ward would lose to Groves and Bute. It's easy to call yourself a champ while sitting on your couch while Froch beats all the best contenders out there.

The man never backs away from a confrontation over obscure fighters/weight classes

It's like telling a hipster you like Starbucks. Sh*t goes down.
