I like TC. I think TC is the definition of gritty. TC's got this coldness in his eyes and I think he's already World Class w/ a pretty high ceiling. With that said, there's no way TC should have won Fighter of the Year...

Ricky Burns was an decent win and should be calculated as such. Burns isn't special, was never special, and was never projected to be special. Besides, Beltran already got in dat ass... (we'll get to Beltran in a sec).

The Yuriorkis Gamboa win, again, was merely decent. Gamboa hasn't looked good in a long time and he was almost stopped by Farenas. But what made the win really lukewarm for me was the fact that Gamboa's little ass midget and TC is a boiler. TC came in at 153 pounds against Beltran. TC is bigger on fight night than Pacquiao and Bradley! So not only he was beating a midget, but he was hurt several times throughout! After the fight, TC even said that Yuriorkis was way too small for the weight class.

Beltran was a good win only because he's a solid, reliable, durable, tough opponent. In other words, he's slightly above gatekeeper.

These 3 wins do not add up to Fighter of the Year.

Personally, I'd go w/ Sergey Kovalev. He's obliterated everyone that's been put in front of him and his one-sided, clinic(whodathunk?) and schooling of Hopkins is probably the best win of the year.

    Runner up is Pacquiao.

    IMO

    GGG>TC>SK>

I'm not even counting pac or floyd. Pac beat bradley the first time around and don't get props for beating him the 2nd time and he gets ZERO points for beating algerir.

Floyd should have skunked maidana both times. FOH

    Herrera?

Yeah, he got bummed by PR judges after he skooled Daniel... but wins over Perez and Benevidez does not a FOTY make.

He basically took 3 Undefeated fighters and took their 0 He's the LWW Champion by beating Garcia, Perez had 1 loss which was due to an injury, and Benavidez was and still is a top prospect, that most thought would win.

That's better than beating a blown up midget FW in Gamboa and 2 losers in Beltran and Burns.

Dismantling Hopkins is worth more than Crawford's entire career, so Yeah. For me it's probably GGG or Kovalev.

I would have felt more comfortable putting SK 1st or 2nd had he beat adonis stevenson or someone like that. Beating bhop is a good win but a 50 year old man shouldn't even be boxing.

TC atleast beat some close to prime guys. Overall this was a bad year cause TC isn't really deserving that much either IMO. Nobody stood out.

2014 was probably one of the worst years in boxing for a long time.

Crawford fought very good competition, I agree... and Kovalev a very close second.

GGG's camp is upset that no one will move up to fight him, yet he wont move up to fight Ward.

    I agree.

But Sergey's win is overshadowed by BHOPs age, and Pac's overshadowed by Algeri's moving up in weight for the fight.

Not saying Bud SHOULDA been FOTY, but it really coulda went to either of the 3 with an honorable mention going to GGG, Loma, Wlad, and Walters. :think

At first I didn't agree with it, but now I do.

He took out two of the very best in his division. Can't ask for more than that.
