I was a pretty fair fighter who was once described by a famous
boxing writer thusly - "In the ring he looked like a man who just burst loose from his straightjacket ". Not flattering but true. Who am I ?

    Harry Greb

Should have said it about Hurricane Jackson, but that would have been a little too close to the bone.

MB, Harry Greb it is...Written by a contemporary boxing writer
of Greb, Ring Lardner, It describes perfectly the frenetic style of Harry Greb who had 300 wars in the ring, throwing punches described by a victim of Greb's like "the ceiling opened up above me and a carload of boxing gloves descended upon me "...
P.S. I saw Hurricane Jackson fight in NY, and yes for a heavyweight he threw a lot of punches, but the Pittsburgh Windmill was bouncing around at the same time he was
throwing fusillades of puches from every possible angle. My dad who saw a prime Harry Greb drown Gene Tunney with his punches at MSG in 1922 was awed by watching Greb that night...

If only we had film of Greb in action. It drives me crazy that such a legendary fighter who had so many fights against so many greats has no damn film of those fights available! It's ridiculous!

The slight training film we have of Harry shadow boxing describes what Burt just wrote of, amazing speed as he moved in all directions throwing punches constantly.

gj, life is strange and truth is stranger than fiction it seems. Harry Greb 300 bouts never filmed or survived
Jack Britton had 344 bouts Maxie Rosenbloom had 299 bouts for a total of 943 fights without ONE FILM OF THEM SEEN FIGHTING.
And I Burt Bienstock, attended a fight between Ray Robinson and Bobby ****s of Tampa Florida [not Billy Brown] in Coney Island open air Arena in the mid 1950s or so, years after I and millions
or so others, watched Ray Robinson decision Bobby ****s on tv
from Chicago in 1950...I swear on my statement, but I don't blame doubters on ESB...I recall vividly that afternoon dull bout between Robinson and ****s that in the distant past they had fought each other once before...My Buddy with me that afternoon is long dead along with Robinson and Bobby ****s...
Yes truth is stranger than fiction as the old adage says...

t, I have a copy of the original training film found in a college archives by a boxing guy who found it...It shows a faded Harry Greb training on the roof of Phil Jack O'Briens gym in NYC. Greb was sparring with the elder O'Brien preparing for his bout with Mickey Walker in 1925. One year later Greb would be dead.
One scene shows Greb playing handball and what struck me is while waiting for the ball to get to him Harry unconsciously is bouncing on his legs as if in the ring where Gene Tunney
described Greb as never being in the same spit for half a second.. A tough, tough style to time with a punch was the
    Iron City Express...
P.S. Just think that 2 weeks after Greb trounced Mickey Walker
Greb beat the tough Maxie Rosenbloom in 10 rounds... Get that Floyd Mayweather ?

The filtering picks up 'Dyk*s' as in Lesbianism. Also Gerry Co*ney is filtered for the same reason..I'm guessing anywho..

Greb had 45 fights in one year, almost as many as in FM's total career. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he has never heard of the Windmill. A few years back, Darren Barker, a future short term alphabet middle claimant, looked askance when Greb's name came up in a TV interview.
