The 2nd fight was a formality 'war' and no doubt the 3rd fight would be even better than the formality fight 2.

Wembley 2 June against Ginger not ruled out either. :patsch

Shame. I can't see what's not to like about Froch Chavez. Two of the best chins in the business slugging it out until last man standing sounds quite good fun to me.

If you're not too fussed about 'meaningful' fights and just want to see a good old fashioned sc.rap, this would be it. I don't get what the problem is.

Unless it's the old haters gonna hate thing...

Suppose people are fed up with the attitude of Chavez....Froch wants a pay day and naturally has a dream of finishing in style in Vegas, who apart from Chavez can give him this fight though? From his comments he seems to have his heart on Vegas so I doubt another Wembley will do it for him....then again $$$$$

Wouldn't mind a Kessler 3rd fight if they can't get golovkin or kovalev

Reckon Froch will retire now. Wouldn't mind seeing Froch v DeGale but doubt it will happen and definitely don't want to see Froch v Kessler III.

think carl wants one more payday before he walks off into the sunset so i dont think you will see a retirement announcement just yet if the chavez fight falls through . its possible he could headline the wembley card again in june against degale i suppose , i dunno , lots happening over next few months with other fighters , guess we have to see what happens there before we will find anything out .

I don't like Froch as a person (that odd mix of self-pity and arrogance) but I don't think his motives for the Chavez Jr fight are purely mercenary, or a case of "ducking" DeGale / GGG. I really do think that he wants to be part of something different and spectacular. He likely realises that Froch vs Groves II cannot be topped as a UK event and even trying would risk his career ending on a sour, anti-climatic note - so that rules out DeGale / Kessler etc. If he is to motivate himself for another training camp, he needs the prospect of uncharted territory - big US event with a huge purse and lots of raucous fans. And, fan demographics show that would best be met with a Latino / Mexican interest. Whilst the purse is important, I suspect it's more a means of keeping score - nobody wants to feel they are worth less than previously.

If this fight does fall through then Froch will bide his time and likely fight the winner of the proposed DeGale/Groves fight.

I'd love him to fight GGG- it's arguably the best match up out there at the moment.

Legit world champion at middleweight? What on earth are you on about mate? He was given Sergios belt by the WBC as they made him diamond champion, it was laughable. Idiot

WBC is a legit belt, and he then fought Martinez which is more than can be said to other people holding the "2nd tier" belt in the organisation

Fact is Chavez is a top fighter and pulls the money and crowds in. Boxing is about money, and this man is the money fight for froch.

Next time get your ducks in order before calling people an idiot. In fact, I went to visit a small village earlier this week and they are crying out for someone like you:yep:yep:yep:yep:yep

Froch can punish you in round 12 the same as round 1, degale will not stick with froch's power for 12 rounds. i'll be put 100 quid on degale getting knocked out if that fight happens

I'd like to see Froch DeGale. I'm not personally all that invested in Frochs pension pot as I don't think he is likely to cut me a cheque, so have no great wish for him to 'achieve his dream' and fight in Vegas unless the fight is interesting.

I'd rather see Froch v Degale in the leisure centre in my town than sit up to 4am to watch him fight Chavez in vegas (which I wouldn't do anyway).
