This fight needs to be at 160, not 168, and is almost certain to get in the later rds, because Eubank's iron chin and GGG's defense and boxing brain.

It would be tempting to assume GGG takes it from there, but we don't quite know how he reacts into the later rds of a fight ( since he's ko'd everyone).

Maybe a slight advantage to him, since Eubank's stamina in the later rds was notoriously lacking, and GGG is a master at conserving his energy.

Another point is Eubank's career was fading by the time he was 29; GGG is pushing 33, and looks almost prime.

Yeah i changed it to 160.

Kassim Ouma took Golovkin 10 rounds and boxed well against him up until a cetain point where Golovkin was adding extra pressure and hurt him.

Golovkin was ill that fight, much worse than vs Rosado. just look at him, you can tell. he told Abel he couldn't feel his arms after the 4th round.

I don't think the Ouma fight is a good example of GGG's potential.
He looked lackadasial, slow, and missed a lot.

Probably his worst fight to date ( there are stories about his less than perfect preparation). And he still stopped Ouma, who's only been previously stopped once, as a 2 year old pro.

A better gauge would be the Stevens fight, where he won every rd with controlled aggression, and showed he could box more when he chose to.

I would expect this kind of performance vs Chris.

No offence to Curtis Stevens but he isn't close to being as good as Eubank was.

Eubank's style and ring mannerisms are completely different to Stevens.

it wasn't the preparation as far as training. according to Abel they were stuck at an airport with a visa issue so it was a sleep deprivation and without scales to check weight a hunger issue. and i don't think you understanding the definition of 'lackadaisical'. Golovkin showed more determination in that fight than any other and sure as hell wasn't lazy. he was sluggish, for him anyway.

We wouldn't have this discussion if he was, would we ?

I would expect Chris to win the majority of the early rds with his quick bursts. But he would need to stay on the outside and avoid close infighting because GGG's timing and balance is bitter than his.

Any mistake could deposit him on the canvas.

If GGG still there after 7, it's probably his fight.

When GGG fought Geale and knocked him out. He took a shot from Geale to land his.

If he let Eubank hit him like that he hits the canvas.

The problem is the middleweights and super mids in Eubank's era are underrated.

Eubank would have no problem with Geale, Rubio, Rosado, Stevens, Ishida, Adama or Proksa.

Those guys would pose no problems to Eubank with his iron chin.

He's a different calibre of fighter. Calzaghe said Eubank was his hardest fight he ever fought.

Gennady afterwards; "Tanksyouferrymuch! Tis is serious box!" :yep

But Chris was very good and one of my favorite boxers of the 90's. Couldn't pick one to root for in the Benn clashes.

He would beat them all. But not in the same impressive and effortless fashion as GGG.

Chris relied on his offense as defense; it worked because he would ko his oponnents around the mid mark.
But if you passed this mid mark, he would be vulnerable, because his constant in-and-out style was sapping his stamina.

Good boxers like Watson showed if you stood your ground against Chris, walked him down, he could be outboxed and hurt.

I can't believe all ten voters so far have picked GGG by KO/TKO. Yeah he hits hard but do you guys know who Chris Eubank was?

Clue, we're not on about the novice pro who fought Saunders the other week.

Eubank easy. Class above. Not fare to compare right not give that Golovkin has not fought elite level fighters and is still developing.

Eubank is very overated. GGG beats him, MD.
