    how about they call them boxers then?:hey

    same reason they call swimming shorts trunks but are swimming trunks shorts?:think

    If Elephants can have "Trunks" and not "Elongated Proboscis" i think i can live with Boxers also Having Them !

    It's an old fashioned word for hosiery that extends from the knee to the 'trunk' or torso.

    back in the day we would call them "Trunk Hose" since the 17th century. and it stuck from the days of past years.

    somebody once told me "love" in tennis comes from French "L' ov" or however it's spelled---meaning egg or goose egg, slang for zero.
