Why is it that so many British "favourites" struggle in America against Americans?

The biggest thing is British Press overhype our fighters to be better than they are and fans buy into it and get caught up in the belief , The exact same isssue as when England go to every world cup the weeks and months in the build up the press have you thinking of a repeat of 66

 

Its easy to look good when you box domestic level opposition in Britain. British media and journalists get carried away easily, call it being overly patriotic, I think they just like hyping their own a bit too much. The curtain gets pulled on many British hypejobs when they test themselves with Elite and world-level fighters in the US.

 

Cos they fight bums,Journeymen, fighters who are a couple levels below them before jumping into the deep end and are not prepared don't have the experience of having faced good opposition and in some case aren't good enough.

 

surely as a belt holder brook has to be rated top 3? of course bradley could beat both, but the fact we can't be sure means they're about the same level. and who are these 3 or 4 americans outside of floyd, who is on the slide himself? my guess is 6 months ago you'd include porter and alexander, both beaten comfortably.

don't forget frampton amongst our best. is there an american in his division who can compete?

for those arguing americans are just better, how do you explain the disparity in results either side of the pond?

 

If you go back in history we've always been inferior,in fact in modern times we've done better.
Also in the last 20 years or so boxing's took a bit of a nose dive in America which is counter balanced though by the upsurge of fighters from Eastern Europe and Russia
