Did anyone else think that Jones looked massive in there with Cormier? I understand that making weight is part of the game, but there is a point to divisions, isn't there?

Just because JJ can somehow scraape LHW does it mean that he should be considered the greatest fighter? It just seems to me that he is a guy who happens to ideally highlight the problems with classifying a fighter only by weight.

Does anyone think that emelianenko is bigger than Jones, in real fighting terms?

That was apart of the greatness of Fedor. Every time he stepped into the ring he was defying the odds usually giving up height, reach and lean mass to the opponent. He proved on many occasions that he had the ability to vanquish said opponents larger than himself.

Jones in his one fight against a quality opponent of equal size was made to look rather mediocre.

    ^^

Now there's a knowledgable poster! Top work, sir!

Weidman is massively overlooked when it comes to his resume.

Add Jacare and Mousasi to that list (if he fights and beats them) and that's a legendary résumé right there!

So if Jones can't really ever become the greatest by fighting at LH because he is clearly negating the level playing field that weight restrictions are meant to impose, and there by always fighting at an advantage over smaller fighters...

Should a giant heavyweight never be considered the goat?

Exactly, Jones could beat up the 10 best LHW ever and still never get the accolade of GOAT

Having Fedor at number four is a little odd in my opinion. Like many fighters, Fedor's going to have some journey men and gate keepers on his resume. However, he fought Cro-Cop and Minotauro Nogueira (twice) in their primes when both those men were cementing their legacies as legendary fighters. Not to mention Fedor was undefeated for ten years in, arguably, what was then the most talent laden organization (Pride).

As far as Jones being the GOAT is concerned, the jury's still out for me. The guy's still young though, so if he keeps going at the pace he's been at, then it will be indisputable.

    hehe, good one

fedor is my fav and i consider him the GOAT. But Bones can overtake him if he goes to heavy and impresses there...i personally hate the fact that he dwarfs everyone he fights /guss(and we saw what happent).

Did Fedor go around poking his opponents in the eyes when it got tough in there.
