Often when everyone expects a KO it doesn't happen - Pacman- Algeri, for example. To me, the biggest shock result would be Wilder by UD12, as everyone expects him to land the KO or get KO'd. I think Wilder if he can last 12, could outbox Stiverne. We'll see....
If it goes 12 rounds, then the ragging on the HW div. will just continue. Boxing NEEDS this to be an exciting HW matchup that ends in a KO.
I just can't imagine this fight going beyond the 5th or 6th round, if even that far. Both fighters rely heavily on their power, and neither of them are known to have anything resembling decent defensive skills. If the fight somehow does continue that long, I'm betting one of them would end up on life support before the night is over.
Wilder proofed a better chin that people assumed but his power is overrated. He won't be able to beat Wach, let alone Fury or Wlad.
Good call. Great to have a Yank as HW Champ. However, as an old schooler, I was not entirely pleased that Wilder started raving after the favorable decision - one that he earned fair and square. Let's hope he displays just a bit more humility after his next win and that he is able to keep the belt and hold it with great distinction and class for a long time to come. Just a thought ...
