There is no other option for Santa Cruz now.

Frampton has a fight next month, Mares is fighting in March, both are not available unless Santa Cruz wants to wait. The best and viable option available is Rigondeaux. He can fight Quiggs, but Rigondeaux is more fresher since he fought on December 31st (Quiggs last fight was on November 22nd).

They can fight fight in April. If he doesn't fight Rigo, LSC is clearly ducking.

Flash KD happens all the time, the second time was not a KD, I believe he was tripped.

Rigo took Donaire's best punches, and was never seriously hurt. Got knocked down in the the 10th but Donaire never really hurt him.

Rigo admitted he is a natural 118lber. Rigo stated in an interview he has no intention of moving up to featherweight. He said he would only fight Walters or Lomachenko if they move down to 122.

He would be at a size disadvantage if he fought those two at featherweight, and most likely would lose. Besides there is a lot of unfinished business for Rigo at 122, there is no point for Rigo to fight Walters and Lomachenko right now.

I like Santa Cruz, but he needs to fight one of the top dogs in the division. In fact, any of them need to fight each other. A lot of potentially great fights there that just aren't happening.

Out of Rigo, Quigg, Frampton and SC I actually think SC is the weakest - just. I would very much enjoy being proved wrong though. Let's hope one of these fights happens

How bout...LSC take on Walters or Lomachenko? Because we know how that would end...

There is no excuse for him not fight Rigo since Rigo is completely available. Quiggs is also available, but Quiggs fought last November while Rigo fought December (Dec 31st to be exact) therefore LSC can get a fight with Rigo at a much later date. LSC has two options available for him now, Quiggs is much less of a risk and more winnable.

I think Quigg has been nursing an injury too, though I'm not too sure how serious it is.

I think him and Rigo would be happy to fight each other, but the promotional side of things might stall. Rigo just isn't marketable in the US. I love watching Rigo personally, but not that many people do.

Even better! That should be an easy fight for LSC. So he should be pushing for the fight.

Nobody is infallible. That argument and this potential fight have nothing to do with each other. If Rigondeaux's boxing is so fallible why are you against this fight happening. Considering LSC's last few opponents why wouldn't you want to fight somebody who got dropped twice in his last fight.

Rigo still has unfinished business in 122, why would he move up and fight Walters or Lomachenko? It would only make sense for Rigo to fight all the top contenders in his division which he hasn't done yet. And no matter what you think of LSC he is ranked #3, and Rigo still has to fight Frampton and Quiggs too.

After Rigo is done fighting the best at JFW and let's say he can no longer make 122 anymore and he is forced to move up, yeah it would make sense for him to fight Walters or Lomachenko, but that's not happening anytime soon.

He dominated every round apart from one round where he was dropped by a long right hand while switching his stance around completely off balance, then pushed down later that round. Aside from that moment, he was moving with ease, landing punishing blows, making Amagasa's face a total mess and dominating the fight.

Rigo is a natural 118lb fighter, in the ring he weighs between 123 and 128, usually 123. Against Donaire reportedly he was 125 to Donaire's 142.5, so size isn't all it takes to beat Rigondeaux. I'd give him a very good chance against Lomachenko and Walters, but there is unfinished business at 122 against people he won't be horribly undersized against.

So you just want him to lose because so many fans hype him up. I mean I get the mindset but why would you set such high standards for Rigo but not for LSC. I mean for Rigo to challenge himself he has to fight people that would outweigh him by 10-15 pounds. All LSC has to do is stay on the weight and fight Rigo. The level of difficulty seems biased towards the Cuban.

OP..the whole point about LSC is precisely that he has SO MANY options!!!!

That's precisely what's so disappointing about him....

So Rigo's promoter should make a real offer to LSC. Then we see if he takes it.
